Just did this on my daughters 2008 XC90 and it seems to be working just fine now. Thanks !
ОтветитьThanks a lot!
Excellent explanation! It was very useful for me and saved mе from much troubles! Only for 20 min resolved ...
Nice tip with that pencil eraser trick at $0 cost. Did NOT have to spend $75 on a new part.
ОтветитьThank you for this turnsignal switch tip. I have not tried it yet, but my xc90 is showing the same symptoms. Good to find a video as thorough and detailed as this while also such an easy to understand explanation. Also your camera work is great. Thank you for taking the time to allow us to see your work. I am sure you have helped many Volvo owners with this video.
ОтветитьThank you so much for this video. Amazing! Great results and super simple. Did anyone else find that the part was rather oily? Is there some sort of lubrication on this part that has started leaking perhaps?
Thanks once again, this was one of the failings on my car that was so annoying I almost considered swapping cars!
Now just to get the headlining stuck back on again! Is this another common problem with you other owners?
Happy new year
Thanks for going to all the trouble of making this helpful video!
ОтветитьTHANK YOU for this video! My Volvo was having the exact same problem. I watched your video and fixed it in 15 minutes. Seriously appreciate it!!
Ответитьperfecto!! thank you
ОтветитьWorks like a CHARM! 10 min work =) Big like button ... Did it on my volvo v70 2002. Probably works on all volvos 02-07
'
Worked 100% Thank you so much!
ОтветитьThanks a lot! My 2004 S60 was having the same problem and this fixed it.
ОтветитьYou are the absolute best!! Thank you so much for your awesomeness
ОтветитьYou may want to disconnect negative battery cable. I did not on my S80 and started getting Air Bag warning.
ОтветитьAhhhh, thanks a lot!!!!
Ответитьadding my self to the thank you list
65,000 views X $200 = well maybe you saved your viewers $13,000,000 collectively
i mean whoah!
Thank you so much! Saved me so much money and very detailed explanation
ОтветитьHi 🙋♂️ just wanted to say a Big thank you to you for the video, my 2011 XC90 left side stopped working after being to the car wash, all the fuses were ok till I saw your video and followed the steps. Thanks 🙏🏽
ОтветитьThank you so much for this truly helpful upload!
Ответитьnoticed u have tilt wheel - is it easier if you unlock that and lower the wheel towards the floor?
ОтветитьI did this on my XC90 and it worked like a charm. You saved me $200 thank you.
ОтветитьThank you very much
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьExcellent - thanks !
ОтветитьProcedure worked like a charm on a 2010 XC60 - thanks again!
ОтветитьThanks for the video. My similar problem is the bright headlights wont stay (on bright) mode. These lever units are $110 ea. at the Dealership. This is the second unit that I've had the same bright light switch issue. Gonna pull this one out, and clean up the green board as shown and see if it works. Volvo dealer will lifetime "guarantee" the part, but only if their mechanic shop does the replacement. And, the time it takes average Joe to pull this part and replace it is all of 10 minutes. Volvo would probably charge a 1 hr (minimum) $85/hr.
ОтветитьThis man is a genius! It worked!
For others' benefit, when I would try to turn on the left signal, nothing at all would happen. No quick blink, nothing. Right worked fine. I only used an eraser, though you'll want to wipe the eraser off frequently bc it accumulates some greasy substance.
It was less than 30 minutes to fix.
You only need the right torx head for the 3 screws underneath the steering wheel and a very small Phillips for the two on the shaft. Once the screws are removed you'll have to pull the shaft towards the driver door with moderate force and it'll pop out.
Great video. As these beasties get older this issue is sure to get more common.
Went from thinking it would be a couple of hours and a new part to 15 mins and some contact cleaner.
And thanks for using a tripod!! Great work.
Great job!
ОтветитьI’m having the same problem, definitely going to try this.
ОтветитьDo you know the wiring diagram ? Ibought a 2006 volvo s60 with a side switch as turn signals but i dont know if the original works so i want to tes it, may be broken so they did that sort of fixing
ОтветитьThanks your description worked perfectly. A 20 minute fix
ОтветитьThis worked for me yesterday (9/5/22)! I didn't have the contact cleaner, but the eraser did the trick. Thank you so much!
ОтветитьGood stuff sir, fixed our XC90.
ОтветитьThank you for the 15-minute fix! I had the same problem with my 2005 XC90 where the left signal became intermittent when the weather turned cold. When I took it apart it was clear the contact points were gummed up. I used a Q-tip w/rubbing alcohol and an eraser. Good stuff!
ОтветитьMine is doing the same thing but when you use the turn signal the high beams come on and won't shut off. Figured out it was doing this when I found the battery dead. I assume the circuit board affects that as well. Going to give it a try. My 2005 has 400k miles so I guess I can't complain.
Ответить500 dollars saved by this man
ОтветитьThank you very much! It perfectly works! (2006 xc90 2.5t)
ОтветитьThank you!! This did the trick quick and easy, even for this non-handy guy!
ОтветитьThis tip helped! Thanks for your research and sharing the results on this video. The directions were very thorough.
ОтветитьThank you so much. You saved me $150.00
ОтветитьThree things when I turn the turn signal the high beams come on to the right also my anti-skid service required message came up however my all-wheel drive is working so I'm wondering if that stalk has anything to do with the anti-skid service
ОтветитьThanks. Your video helped me out.
ОтветитьThanks for this extremely concise video! We had the exact same issue with our 2005 XC90. We followed your video and it worked like a charm! We ALMOST took it to a mechanic to have it replaced. Saved ourselves some money!! Thank you!
ОтветитьThank you very much !👍
ОтветитьGreat explanation, right to the issue! Thanks a lot!
ОтветитьTHANKS!
ОтветитьThanks man
ОтветитьYou’re a lifesafer! Worked on my V70. Thanks a lot.
ОтветитьGreat video! These turn signal stalks go bad more often than they should.
ОтветитьIt's been 11 years since I made this video. Today I needed to fix this problem on the same car, so fortunately I could watch my own video to see what I had done 12 years ago. Fixed it much faster this time.
