Last month Armenia adopted new gun laws.

The Armenian Report went on the streets of Yerevan to ask its citizens what they think of the new law that will allow Armenian citizens to carry weapons.

The adoption of this law in Armenia has given rise to many controversial opinions. Some say it will help the country better defend itself in the wake of the 2020 military defeat to Azerbaijan. While opponents of the bill worry that it could lead to an increase in gun-related crime in the country.

The people we spoke with told us different opinions on gun laws.

One person said that carrying a weapon is important in Armenia while someone else said that that number of crimes will increase in the country.

A few others mentioned that it’s important for soldiers to have guns and not civilians.
