Wow cool
ОтветитьI forget which Railroad bought out the Chicago central and pacific railroad What I love about it is it bright red paint scheme and their logo is their own version of the Illinois central green diamond talk about staying true to the heritage of the line it operates on but I do not know what class one Railroad bought out this regional short line if anyone knows comment down below
ОтветитьSome great footage.
Love the Geeps!
Is there any footage from the IC, CMN, WSOR on the former Madison Branch of the IC between Freeport and Madison, WI? Before anyone interjects, I know it’s not on this video, but does it exist at all? Thanks
ОтветитьReally good stuff spent sometime on the Dubuque sub myself with CN and caught a few crandic trains in CR
ОтветитьI really liked the DM&E and the ALCo diesels on the GB&W! It was great watching an RS-27 smoke it up!
ОтветитьOne Alco from the Green Bay and western currently resides at the Illinois railroad museum. I believe it is an RSD15 I could be wrong.
ОтветитьExcellent video as always.
ОтветитьI'm from Green Bay Wi, sure miss the Alcos. Surprised to see ex Milwaukee Road units still working after the Soo got them, the Milwaukee ran them hard and had minimal upkeep.
ОтветитьThe 80's/90's was a true renaissance of regional railroads in the US
ОтветитьI lived in Rochester Minnesota from 1981 to 1995 and it was interesting to watch the DM&E grow from the ground up with hand me down locomotives that were eventually painted DM&E blue and yellow. In the early 1990’s there was a derailment east of Rochester immediately west of the RR bridge where highway 14 does an S turn crossing under the tracks. I took a day off from my lawn service to watch the cleanup. The crew didn’t like being watched.
Ответить😊😊
ОтветитьNice video ! But you guys forgot the Iowa Interstate Railroad..
ОтветитьThe CC&P action here is amazing
Ответить❤
ОтветитьI've been seeing some old Chicago Central railroad pieces along the old Iowa division including plows and flat cars
ОтветитьBoy. Everything about the DME looked scetchy. Hence the pile up.😮
Bob got lucky from the looks.
How much track did CC&P use that Chicago Great Western owned that was not ripped up.
ОтветитьGreat footage of the cc-p I watched them all the time between iowa falls and Boyer all the time it was funny we would be drag racing or horsing a round in Boyer when we heard it coming every one would quit doing what ever to watch the train go by or they would slow down to watch us thanks for the memories
ОтветитьGrew up on the C&NW mainline between Chicago and Omaha. Not far away was the Illinois Central from Mendota to Freeport. Got train rides on that one. My dad knew the Freeport yard master and some crews. Love the frog eyed geeps with all my heart❤😊
ОтветитьAll that IC action-- that's how a train is supposed to sound! Today sucks..
