Home security expert Neil (Lee Mack) is struggling with his neighbour, Scott (Chris McCausland), constantly swapping their bins, complaining about Neil's "project" car, and keeping his Christmas lights up all year, shining into Neil's home office. Basically, he's a git. He's also blind, and the rest of the street thinks he's great.

Neil questions his suitability when the community attempts to make Scott the new head of Neighbourhood Watch. A tit-for-tat row ensues, and Neil ends up blowing the power. For the whole street. On Christmas Eve, forcing everyone to change their Christmas plans.

Unfortunately, a notorious local crime family, "The Brennans," plans to take advantage of the lack of lights, cameras, or alarms and rob the street, so the odd couple must team up to stop them.
