Are you married 😍 just asking. Thank you for sharing this great information for this career
ОтветитьGreat stuff man where you at welder before
ОтветитьWow, this video is really packed with life-changing information, thank you for sharing! Gonna have to save it and rewatch multiple times.
ОтветитьHello again, you have a new subscriber here.
Please make a video explaining welding codes for beginners. What are welding codes, and how many are there, how do they work, etc? Thank you Slump Monkey.
ICC both bolting and welding in most cities in California is a prerequisite to have to weld inspect any structural building in California. Including any structural shoring where splice full pins are required and fillet welds are needed. Los Angeles city , Los Angeles county , Orange County etc .
ОтветитьThey might even be in that black infamous black book. Lol
ОтветитьICC CERTS TEST ON D1.1
WHILE A CWI IS TESTED ON WELDING WITH A SMALL SECTION ON CODE COMPLIANCE IE: AN ICC INSPECTOR NEEDS TO BE EMPLOYED FOR 10 YEARS TO QUALIFY TO TEST AWS, JURISDICTION,S WANT/NEED THE EXTRA LICENSING FUNDS CORRUPTION RUN AMUCK
Great info brother 👍 PS I can feel the hate already
ОтветитьThanks for the nose hair view
ОтветитьQuestion here 👋 I’m being welding over 6 years already and I was thinking to get into this (cwi) but one thing is stopping me, I don’t have a high school degree or GED either and idk if that would be a problem, I got a friend and he is a cwi and he said that they never ask him for a high school diploma
Ответитьgood video brother, i also had linda from real education, but i tell you what, ive been a QC for a couple years now and i have to be honest, i hate it lol. People is your absolute worst enemy, being a QC brings the worse out of people, and you will find out people true nature, i have lost friends ive been knowing for 10 years over it haha. Also the company i work for is doing me wrong, i work as a field inspector and as a manager handling all documentation, weld mapping, NDE requests, building turn over packages for two different projects in two different citys. Its all good experience but its challenging at times
ОтветитьJesus had a hand in that test 💯
Ответитьhey i want to be a cwi insperctor!!!!!!!!! just started reading fundamentals from base line data good video by the way
ОтветитьHow long is the required experience to take the class and the test to become CWI?
ОтветитьI have just done CSWIP 3.1 and I didn't like its training. I asked a friend who got his CWI cert if its course was better, and he said it isn't. Fortunately, there is good literature available plus the internet for you to teach yourself.
ОтветитьWhat engineering firm do you work for?
ОтветитьJust took the AWS seminar, DO NOT TAKE IT, the first thing the instructor said was "I'm not like Hobart, I don't care if you pass the exam, I only want to teach you how to be a real cwi" then proceeded to do nothing but tell stories all week and give us the same practice questions over and over, half of the Part b exam was never mentioned in class, so I was completely blind, his way of prepping us for part C was literally going thru the book and saying "highlight this" by the time we were done 2/3rd of the book was highlighted, meaning it was now over highlighted, didn't teach us how to navigate the book or really what to tab specifically, save your money, go somewhere else
ОтветитьHey I’ve been a CWI for couple months now and I love it. I’m the CWI for a structural steel fab shop and it’s been amazing. Can’t wait to be a level 2 Ut. Currently studying for level 1/2 PT
ОтветитьBeen a cwi for over 2 years now, best decision ever. Did mine on D1.1, part B was for sure the hardest part, but ultimately, the most intimidating part of test is that clock. Fastest 2 hours you'll ever experience. My overall average was 89%, but a pass is a pass.
ОтветитьI believe there needs to be a bit more professionalism in the field. Although I agree with your commentary here “Slump Monkey”, I think that CWI’s might ought to refrain from talking about bootyholes and nonsense when trying to teach younger generations. Yea it’s funny but do you really want to represent inspection like that? This is a serious industry.
ОтветитьI thought the AWS seminar was great and I definitely wouldn’t have passed without doing it.
ОтветитьTyvm
Ответитьcasually scores a 92 on what he claims is the hardest part of the test smgdh i think people put it in their head that it's hard when it should be the easiest part of the test because its physical objects in front of you. who knows though til you take it
Ответитьwhere's a good place to get the study material for the exams? what i noticed about lot of these videos is that the prices for these test and study materials never mentioned. It's really expensive out of pocket. is there any where to obtain books for cheaper than AWS sells them??
ОтветитьTitty bars for vampires hahaha
ОтветитьTotally agree with you about Real Educational Services to get your CWI! Gerald and Linda's preparatory course is the best out there that I know of and have double the passing rate that the AWS seminars have. I found that they over-prepare you by making their tests much harder than what the actual test is. It's like they train you to run a marthon when you're only running a 5 mile race. I also like how they re-test every three years to make sure that their seminars are up to date with the actual test. I went to their facility in Hempstead, TX September 2023 and passed on my first attempt thanks to them 😀. Anyways just discovered your channel and am a big fan already.
ОтветитьI have failed the first 3 of each, not giving up, Ive been a welder and iron worker for over 15 years, between washington, Idaho, Montana and Indiana
ОтветитьHow’s the pay over America for welding Inspection?
Been cswip in the uk for 4 years now, been a dream of mine to work in the USA
I'm 43 is it too late... I've been a structural steel welder for 11 years now
ОтветитьI’m going through Real Education. I’m excited to get this done. I’ve been welding and grinding ASME stainless pressure vessels for 20 years now. From fabrication, running the breaks, tank fit up, welding, grinding, seam welders, operating the plasma TIG to writing training procedures. Thanks for the great video.
ОтветитьWhere do I start as a former welder of 24 years and a CWI for 20?
Plasma is not a welding process. A lot of companies want CWIs who have tested to D1.1 and not the pipe code. The best education is to be a former welder for knowledge and respect in the field (the last thing we need are more non-welders as CWIs).
HAHAHAHA...AWS does not care about you being a good CWI. They will let anyone take the test who meets the joke of the so-called requirement and as long as they get their money. Believe me, I know plenty of CWIs who have zero business being a CWI.
I was gonna get my masters degree in welding to eventually become a welding inspector but i just found out how stressful the job could be. I mean one mistake from me could cost lives. Apart from that, working in hazardous areas are part of the job too. Maybe that's just not for me
ОтветитьI'm signed up for the 2 week CWI course thru Real Educational in July. Nervous but excited. I've heard great things about them. Thank you for making this video, helps put my mind at ease somewhat.
