Hi.  I am considering using this as a hedge in backyard to block view of street and traffic of a main road.  the area (120' length) gets full sun - am and pm.  would this shrub survive or is that considered too open of an area for this kind of shrub.  what other evergreen shrubs do you recommend to plant along with Loropetalum?  Thanks.

I am planting several in a row. How far apart should I plant them? Thanks

I planted 5 in a row they were so pretty when I first got them. But, they look dried out and the stems keep breaking off. I'm not sure what to do :(

I live in the desert and seem to have been able to keep it alive for about three years (barely... little growth). I don't want to over water nor do I want to under water. How often should I be watering it in 90 degree dry weather? Also, how can I tell if I'm over watering it?

I planted 4 of these, but 3 I planted too low, and one of them is looking skimpy. What can I do?

Hello Sir, I watch you every single day from zone 7b Zebulon NC. I would like to cut my lorop from 4ft tall to 2 ft, is this something I can do without killing them also they are at least 7 years old. Right now it’s in a hedge form, no leaves at the bottom but plenty on top and healthy shurbs. Please help, you are honestly the only one I trust with this question.

I have had loropetulum for years and I love them. I prune mine year 'round so I'm not concerned about the height & width @ maturity. My home is an English Tudor with chocolate brown exterior timbers so needless to say these shrubs look spectacular.

Great video Jim, thanks! One question, can this plant be pruned/trimmed so that it can be tall and narrow, like only 3 feet wide and 6 feet tall? Thanks
