Save money in the long run? In 35 years, the amount I've spent on cables is a fraction of the cost of a Shure system. And seeing as modern electronics are built to only last a few years, I'd have had to buy multiple units in that time too.
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have one but saving money won't be the reason. Corporate scripts and their bullshittery are funny.
