Love my LS2 Carbon Explorer. It's quiet! Still holding out for my all-time favorite, the Arai XD4. If it EVER becomes available! I've been waiting for 2 years now.
ОтветитьBetween the Klim and the Arai which would be the quietest?
ОтветитьHad the bell mx-9 adventure for two years now and it's good if you ride off road and dirt. But that helmet is extremely loud when you riding highway. Absolutely a big no no for long rides
ОтветитьI wear the BELL MX-9 adventure MIPS, it’s budget friendly, do basics protection right also it never looks outdated also easy to clean 🧽
ОтветитьFrustraighting how little helmet innovation/technology has made it's way through to this adventure category and very evident in selection of lids chosen in this video. A modified plastic shelled budget motoX helmet with a visor thats been around for years, a chinese carbon shelled Nishua for double the price and a decade old Arai... none of which have any kind of innovative anti-rotational force mitigation technology; except for the cheapest helmet in the line-up with MIPS that is invaldiated by its weght, eps uniformity and poor quality shell material. Where are the 6D ATR2, Fly Formula Carbon, Moto 9 Flex, AGV K6's of this class actually trying to provide an improved product to the market :/
ОтветитьArai’s main and only flaw is the weight. It weighs like a brick on your head, and it will give you headaches on long days.. But built quality is far above anything else (Shoei coming a close second). The Klim is a very comfortable helmet, and the lack of weight is what makes it a winner, but built quality (and longevity) is nowhere near Arai
ОтветитьShoei is amazing, and if they update the Hornet also to include SRL, like they have done to their GT Air, Neotec. This will be awesome!
ОтветитьAnother Great review, I still have go with the Arai XD-4. Also I use that partially cracked shield every ride!
ОтветитьWith out a doubt, looking at the countless improvements, accessories that I buy for my enjoyment and abilities to ride all day, of endless dirt adventure riding, a light weight helmet is it. Nothing I have gets more appreciation for its contribution to my long days in the saddle than having as much weight of my neck as possible. I'll cheap out in many areas just to have a light weight, obviousily Carbon helmet. After countless helmets purchasing a carbon Fibre cap made more difference to my over all enjoyment and level of fatigue than anything else I own.
ОтветитьAiroh?
ОтветитьI'd like to buy from you guys, but you only offer the XD-4 up to XL. Any plans you carry the XXL, even in just the solid colors? Kind of crazy that needing a bigger helmet makes it so dang hard to buy a helmet, let alone being able to try one on. Nobody keeps anything on hand for anybody outside the middle of the pack sizes.
Ответитьthe hornet was noisy and far too tight on cheeks compared to others, i sold mine after 1 month, shoei are only for people with a head shaped like a fish
ОтветитьYou seem to get alot of wind noise with adventure helmets and I find the peaks can vibrate at higher speeds on tarmac
ОтветитьCan you next time include how well the fit a goggle while still having the visor on? I mean, a lot of riders in dusty condition wanna run both - goggles when dusty, on and to your trails the normal visor (also during rain). WOuld be interresting to know, as not all helmets fit a pair of goggles very well
ОтветитьVery noisy helmet , I sold mine got hjc ! The difference worth the price 👍
ОтветитьShoei all the way , fit comfort and I love how I can wear goggles under the shield,
ОтветитьBeing able to just crack the shield that small bit is a must for me. I own klim krios pro and it is a bit snug on the top of my forehead. The shell allows for you to swap the liners to different sizes so that may help you.
ОтветитьJust swapped my XD4 for the Hornet and it is way better for me. The visor locking on the XD4 really got on my t.ts and why Arai dont make a real chin curtain like on the Hornet is a mistery to me. But brilliant lid though
ОтветитьJust pre ordered the Scorpion XT9000 that's supposed to come out next week... I currently have a Shoei road helmet and almost ordered the Hornet X2, but I feel like the hornet needs an update and some weight loss.
ОтветитьSchuberth E2 not shown. I have the E1 and IMO one of if not the best adv helmet in the market.
ОтветитьI think I'm going with another Arai. It seems to be the only one that allows you to wear goggles and close the shield. I love having that option of goggles only offroad and then being able to drop the shield on the street or when following others in the dust.
ОтветитьThat's the ols Scorpion lid, there has been a new one out for a couple of years
ОтветитьI’ve had a couple of Shoei helmets, always great fitment for me, just love them.
Though I am tempted to try an Arai next time :)
Kim makes a great helmet, its my daily choice
ОтветитьBeen with the XD4 since I started riding my 990 more than a decade ago. So far, nothing comes close. Thanks for all your great content.
ОтветитьHave the LS2.....it is really loud , can't do more than 50km without earplugs.....
I do not understand, get it how do u test it so u can say that it is quiet 😏
Can anyone recommend a really large adventure helmet.
ОтветитьI purchased a Shoei Hornet X2 from cycle gear in person. I was very torn between the medium and large, my head is 23.5" according to their size chart. I went with a large figuring I could add the custom padding to perfect the fit, no luck, out of stock everywhere. Do you guys think I made the right choice on sizing?
ОтветитьI just picked up the at 950 from revzilla on close out plus the gov x discount for $170. I wanted the the shoei or arai but I couldn’t afford them now and I couldn’t pass up the scorpion at that price. Just got my ‘23 adventure klr 650. First adventure bike.
ОтветитьI went for the LS2 Explorer Carbon and it is about as good as the Krios at half the price.
Very well ventilated even without goggles.
Can fit goggles depending on their shape.
Speaker pockets are kind of shallow so my eats catch on the speakers when taking the helmet off. Not great not terrible.
God belss and protect u and ur families through our only really good lord and only true savior, Jesus Christ, ANYTIME 🙏🏽😊🙌🏽🌷🫱🏻🫲🏼❤️💕🔝🏁✅🏞️🌞✝️💕
ОтветитьKRIOS PRO..!! ❤ the best adv helmet i have used till now 😊👌
ОтветитьI lucked out and a friend GAVE me an arai XD4! I love everything about it, the little vents in the visor let SO much air in. One thing I noticed is that the visor causes so much extra noise and strain on your neck so I took it off. For all ADV riders out there, the whole add a visor to make it look off roady and cool is overrated. Take your sun visor off, it’s overrated
ОтветитьI'm overall very happy with my LS2, especially for the price. I really like that the sun visor covers most of the eye port. Ventilation is excellent, noise isn't terrible, peak is tolerable on the highway. One small gripe is that it's pretty tight in the cheeks, though this has eased as it breaks in. One larger gripe is the locking visor. I think this feature is just plain dumb on anything but a track-focused helmet–why on earth would they put it on an ADV lid?! I have never once had a visor fly open on me unintentionally on a motorcycle, even at "straight to jail" speeds. I have, however, inadvertently locked this one several times and then struggled to get it back open (it's a two-handed job) while I approach a stoplight. I'll probably take a Dremel to the locking lug to fix this 'feature'.
ОтветитьWhy not Airoh Commander?
☺
No mention of goggle compatability
ОтветитьGood morning. Very nice comparison. Short and sweet. Well done. I live in South Africa where we ride a lot when it is quite hot. Ventilation is therefore very important. Of the featured helmets, can you perhaps rate them from best to worst for ventilation. Regards. Theo
ОтветитьDoes Rocky Mountain have a brick and mortar?
ОтветитьThe Arai xd4 is about the most well balanced adv helmet out there. Not the best for pure offroad and not the best for pure onroad but it strikes a perfect balance, which is tough to do. I also like the way arai prioritizes confort and crash performance over lightweight. Too many helmets sacrifice too much to achieve reduced weight.
ОтветитьWhy no comment about exactly weight...
ОтветитьI WANT A DUAL SPORT HELMET WITH A INTERNAL VISOR AND RATCHET TYPE HELMET LOCK (not the double d ring) WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST… REGARDS
ОтветитьIf you wish to cover the key features, then please tell the weight of each, not only of the lightest
ОтветитьI live in japan where arai is surprisingly cheap, but I cant buy arai in the western ovel shape... so I dont wear them.
Ответитьexcellent analysis
ОтветитьI HAVE XD3 SINCE 2008, its in perfect condition, best helmet ever----xd4 will be next
ОтветитьCaberg TourMax seems they have been around a long time, maybe I missed a previous review, Thanks
ОтветитьIf only the hornet had a sun visor inside. I have the gt air II and love it and would get another shoei any day
ОтветитьShip for free! Unless you live in Alaska and you want a tire! Oh well😞at least it was in stock, and I got it for an extra 90 bucks!
Ответитьthe AT 950 is heavy, no airflow, so your head gets hot quick and it packs out fast. 6 mos old and it doesnt fit anymore, i need a new liner
Ответить
