This is the only channel I will drop what I'm doing to watch when the notification comes thru. Another great video and hike! You must have quite a few of the terrifying 25 checked off by now
ОтветитьI did this one this summer in less than ideal conditions - wet and foggy - truly terrifying!! I hiked solo, descending the slide, and thought I got off trail since the slide section is not well marked coming down. Without the energy to go back up and dreading the thought of bush-wacking my way home once I got to the bottom, I started yelling out into the wilderness to no avail to see if anyone else was on trail. Then at the very base of the slide I found a marker - I was never so happy to see a splash of paint on a tree!!!
ОтветитьHow many times did you climb the slide to get all those different angles? Most people go up it once and say "glad I don't have to do THAT again" or "at least I don't have to go back down this"
Ответить100% ... I did this trail back in 2002 and I was super out of shape and it was VERY terrifying ... I won't even consider doing it in rain or snow. Now days I wouldn't might going back and trying it again. But Adam ... you didn't just do this once ... you were going up and down the slabs to get your cameras ... you are truly a spiderman :)
ОтветитьI like your theme music 🙂🎶
ОтветитьAdam!! Wow, this is fantastic and probably one of the best videos showing this climb. All of the extra work you did to get those shots - amazing!! Congratulations. Really fun and scary to watch. Be safe!
ОтветитьAwesome video as always, Adam. I did Flume during winter 2012 and I agree, it is crazy. The sheer verticality is leg shaking. Highly recommend ascending the Flume Slide trail and descending Liberty Spring Trail. It adds some miles to the total but makes for a less panic inducing trek!
ОтветитьThx for attempting this beast, !!! Do u carry any filteration for water when u hike as acback up ? Thx , again great editing!
ОтветитьHey! You didn't look terrified! Not even once!
I would definitely like to hike that one!
Adam, your videos are getting more amazing all the time. This was fantastic. Of couse, my favorite so far is Mount Washington desolate in the snow. But i love your videos; you should have 100k subscribers!
ОтветитьI think I saw you on the trail! that knee brace looks familiar...
ОтветитьThis video inspired me to go hike this trail. It was a nice day and it took me just around 6 hours and I made it right at sunset! It was hard but very worth the amazing view!!😁
ОтветитьI did this one in mid July and it was so cool! I started at the Lafayette trailhead, walked the 2 miles on the bike path and did a loop all the way to little haystack and down the falling waters trail. Flume has such a great summit and on a clear day I think it has the best views of the notch. Definitely less crowded than the other peaks next to it.
ОтветитьThat was a very tough up. I agree, up but not down. Another great vlog Adam. Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьWow Wow and Wow!!! What a hike and what a view from the summit and the video was amazing!
ОтветитьWow! I don’t mind a climb or some scramble… but I’m smart enough to realize this is out of my league! Thank you for all you do with these videos!
ОтветитьFun fact my brother carried that tree branch as a walking stick from the liberty summit to the flume summit, glad to see it’s still there and you featured it in your video 😂
ОтветитьFirst time I did that trail was going down... people going up where looking at me like I was crazy... it was a bit crazy looking back.
ОтветитьHope you're well on you way to a full recovery Adam!
ОтветитьDid this today, your video was a tremendous help when it came to the technical parts of the climb on the slabs!
ОтветитьDid it by myself in late October with a slight mist all day. Rocks were wet and i should of turned back. If i do it again i will do it with someone and bring ropes. It becomes rock climbing and not a trail anymore. Enjoy.
ОтветитьDid this hike in reverse in the dark while it was raining a couple days ago and it was not fun at all, very terrifying, multiple cliffs.
ОтветитьHow do you get back down? As difficult as climbing up it seems, I imagine going down woukd be even worse? Did you go another way ( loop trail)?
ОтветитьI came down this trail doing the loop backwards. It was so sketchy. A slightly rainy day at that. Thought i was going to die. 🤣😅🤘
ОтветитьI just did this yesterday. No joke. I’m impressed you filmed this.
ОтветитьDid this in 2004 as part of a 5 day camping trip. Pivotal moment in my young life.
ОтветитьI hiked this! You used to be able to access this trail from Flume Gorge. I was in my early 20s when I did this hike and loved it! Very challenging hike!
ОтветитьMy buddy and I did this trail in 94. We camped on the bottom and hiked up and down it. Great times. We also did liberty on another trip and camped at liberty spring same summer
Ответитьbut how do you get back down these terrifying 25 trails?? 🥲
ОтветитьYou don't have to walk the bike path for long if you park at the Basin and walk in that way. There's a cutoff about .3 in from the Basin parking lot that takes you to LST and on to the Flume trail
ОтветитьAwesome job! Also thank you for doing your own personal PSA on the difficulty of this Trail while ensuring that people actually stay on the slide to eliminate all of the erosion of people trying to avoid the trail itself. Keep it up out there. You are doing great!
