Why Baki VS Muhammad Ali Jr is the Worst Match Ever

I find it weird how the anime opening portrays Baki and Jr's relationship as a rivalry but it isn't like that at all. Baki never wanted to fight him. Even after Jr started going out with Kozue, Baki seems weirdly nonchalant about it all. It's weird because Baki still fights other characters after Jr like Pickle and Chiharu.

Ali Jr is the biggest wasted character in any anime I've seen. In the beginning portrayed as a super powerful fighter and all around nice guy. Then he suddenly does a 180 and wants to fight Baki and hook up with his girl for some reason. He beats up a bunch of established powerful characters. But turns out they were jusr memeing and he gets clapped. So what was even the point? Literally no character got any growth from his arc at all. They literally wasted every episode spent on him. Just awful writing and one of the many reasons I dislike Baki even though I find it enjoyable at times.

We all know Baki and Yujiro are the only contenders anyway. Maybe Jack in Rahen, but we have yet to see that
