Love m43…pre OM System…loved the lightness and compact system. WHAT HAPPENED?!…..Have we all become wildlife and bird photographers? Who the hell is running the company? I’m still waiting for a newer smaller less bloated camera without all the bells and whistles of a flagship camera. Some nice WR f1.4 versions of the f1.8 primes would be a better selling point than a 600mm lens that 2 people will buy!
Come on Panasonic, there’s a void there that needs filling…a new GM series please 🙏
Hilarious!
ОтветитьClickbait based on a BS premise. It looks like this guy was absent in HS basic physics class. The lenses are provably lighter & more compact than the equivalent FF lenses. A robust, weatherproofed metal body should be heavier than the el cheapo plastic fantastic bodies in the same price range from other brands, regardless of sensor size. I don't recommend watching this cr4p channel.
ОтветитьLet's not forget that this 600mm is equivalent to a 1200mm FF lens. How much does such a FF lens cost?
ОтветитьBelieve it or not, some want-to-be photographers think M4/3's systems are superior to Nikon and Sony Full Frame systems.
ОтветитьMaitani is rolling over in his grave...he rolled over so much in the last decade that you can see the bones of his once creative fingers sticking out from the dirt. He is really so sad what OM System has done to his once great Mount Olympus empire. Zeus has forsaken him and the new beast known as OM System (yeah that logo looks so awkward on the cameras - asymmetry is never attractive).
ОтветитьThe only thing they had going for them was the "Olympus" brand .... so they decided to drop that. WTF is "OM System"? It's like buying Rolls Royce and rebadging it "RR Cars."
ОтветитьThat’s basically what i thought when I’ve seen the news. This OM1 MK2 is a joke as well as how OM System manage price of their gear. Because I’ve bought my OM1 two year ago for 2200$. Then they made some offer for 1700$. Which is a shame because the resell value of this camera is basically a joke right now. So I’m stuck with it. They just deserve me to leave this joke. But I will resell my camera for what ? 1000$ max ? And my lenses ? I will maybe get enough to buy an X-PRO 3 and one lens. That’s all !
ОтветитьI love my OM System camera. Its just a joy to use. Use whatever brings you joy!
ОтветитьWhy the heck are people shortening Micro Four Thirds to 'M43'? It's shortened to 'MFT'. The 'M43' implies a threaded screw lens fitting, specifically a metric thread. Zenit cameras used an M42 (M42x1) threaded lens fitting.
ОтветитьYou are right about one thing only - It is a redesigned Sigma lens but it is the SPORTS version NOT the CONTEMPORARY so the weight is IDENTICAL @ 2.1kg. But yes it is a heavy lens.
ОтветитьHad to laugh and cry at the same time. I use M43 and can say right now I use it because of the size and weight, I see no inferiority in image quality over 135. Using 135 lenses as m43 native lenses is rather stupid, someone in OM systems is listening to Americans who like everything bigger, and even bigger as bigger is better, right? That is not so in the real world. Even Canon and Nikon have now realised that making mirrorless after years of poisoning resellers and users to them. Yet they both have some way to go to catch m43. Also they should never be able to catch m43 in making lighter lenses for equivalent specs. Maybe OM Systems should license and help a company like Lowa to make compact AF lenses, they seem to be doing OK with their MF range.
Ответитьhalarious
ОтветитьSuper !
ОтветитьIt is said that the new 150-600mm MFT adapted Sigma 150-600mm. It should be heavier than one genuine for MFT.
ОтветитьI have plenty of deer around my house...I NEED to guard my sushi!!!
ОтветитьThis all very well said, and i laught my ass off.
But seriously you have to be insane to buy your self in, in a OM system. In 2024.
I can't fucking stand where OMD is going with this shit.
m43 allows you to use much lighter and smaller optics and body than FF for the same effective focal length. That's literally a built-in "feature" of using a smaller m43 sensor.
So what do they do?
Make a brick of a massive body and make their lenses bricks as well, just as bricky as their FF and APS-C competitors, but now without the advantages of larger sensors.
Oh, but they have way more computational shooting modes, which is true, but computation is literally code and circuits and weighs fuck-all.
Amazing how they just give up such a natural competitive advantage - half the reason traditional cameras are dying is because smartphones and mobile cameras are so light and easy to carry around so people BUY THEM TO CARRY AROUND ALL THE TIME.
All you OM System Lovers. Come back and comment when they actually create something new. I owned the OM-1, which was made by Olympus, and it was great, but was hoping the OM-5 was going to be a new camera. After its release, I realized that this company is not able to create new cameras on its own. Now it looks like they can't make lenses either. Maybe they should team up with Sigma and utilize the Foveon technology.
ОтветитьFirst seconds of video, you look pissed! 😂
ОтветитьYou have said what all the other so-called ambassadors don't say.
ОтветитьI don't think there will be an OM-1 FW update in the fall.
I think OMD will be shut down by then.
Lol OM should shut down. Insulting camera release.
ОтветитьEverything you said applies to all cameras.
Ответитьhahaha im dying.. om sushi!! 🤣 thanks god im doing research and found you!
Ответить$15 an hour :) OM Camcorders - its the future.
ОтветитьYou’re comparing the om system 600mm to full frame 600mm lens.. that’s not a correct comparison, the m43 600mm is equivalent to 1200mm lenses
ОтветитьIt's not heavier than a FF 1200mm.
ОтветитьHey Kasey, i think it's about time you made real in-depth Hands-on review of OM 150-600 / + maybe OM-1ii? (not only superficial ''mass-crowded'' opinion, like most others on YT)....
You do it differently more ''relaxed'' and more true-to-reality-like, and that's the most obvious strength of this channel that differentiates you from other YT masses...
best regards
I got into MFT recently... So small and fun. About to pick up the Olympus 100-400 lens for a trip out west.
ОтветитьThis video is pathetic. The worst I’ve ever seen o you tube
ОтветитьAll jokes aside. I’m enjoying the OM-1. Lighter, Faster, and 100% hit rate on focusing. Coming from a 5D.
ОтветитьAs a long time Olympus fanboy I came to the same conclusion. Still love my e-M1 iii and PEN-F, but I’m writing off OMDS for this nonsense. And the much vaunted AF still sucks.
OMDS has become the BlackBerry of cameras, living off patent licensing royalties as I’m sure even at these prices they are losing money due to their distribution overhead.
So don’t buy the extra heavy lens or the extra expensive 150 to 400 w/built in teleconverter. Buy the 300 f4 which is sharp as hell with one or both converters. You have reach portability and great image quality for less money. If you physically don’t want to move to reframe you’re not going want to handhold those other beasts cuz you’re a lazy git or a tripod weenie and still lazy.
ОтветитьI’ve never seen private equity grow anything. That’s not their purpose. Drive price and slash costs. Then sell the business in whole or parts for a decent return. Purpose fulfilled. Any products they offer in the meantime are a ruse to attract potential buyers. Sad, but true.
I imagine Olympus knew it was game over for the system when they sold this part of the business.
OM SYSTEM the original name of Olympus when it was film based camera, has come first again at making a lens that can over-heat hahahah i love coming to channel after crying all day due to picking this brand,,, i come here to cry what little i have left in the tank 😂 i would buy two OM SUSHI too eat
ОтветитьI dont understand. For aps-c they manage to make a 600g 70-350mm lens. I was expecting microfourthidrs to have a 400mm lens at like 400g or something but no. ALl their wildlife lenses weigh as much as full frame. what the hell is the point
ОтветитьI do not get why people think one system can do it all. I have an OM-1 for one thing and Sony FF for another. If you want a given lens, then get the camera for it and use more than one system, it's not complicated.
There is no rule to have only one system.
Still better than Canon, that charges you thousands per lens if you actually want something that is sharp and decent.
ОтветитьIt has hard to imagine OM System latest innovations is now into Japan styled heat and surve curry. When will they start making Sushi too?
ОтветитьLove the sarcasm and deadpan. But before you opine on the image stabilization synchoronization, how about you get hold of one. i have to agree with ohe OM1 mk II crap thay slung out there.
But really the Sigma was decent full frame - now it's shit?
You single handedly decreased the value of my Fooj and crushed my dreams of there being a perfect camera all in one day thanks dude 😂
ОтветитьCool stuff, funy and all but can you please get the aperture limitations right? The aperture values multiply by 2 full frame equivalent when it comes to depth of field but still the same amount of light is coming in when it's say f4 regardless whether it's m43 or full frame, come on
ОтветитьNow we know... The "new" OM-3.
Ответить"...a deer was chewing on a piece of it..." LMAO
Ответить
