Today's American Patriot is the best missile defense system in the world without question. The Patriot shot down 11 of russias over hyped kinzal missiles and with a 95% kill rate it's a beast. The S400 is a joke it can't track stealth fighters and can't protect itself from HIMAARS ATACM's or rockets which has destroyed 9 of it's missile batteries.

Watching the first few minutes, I think it will need a local anti-Drone protection systems.

Patriot couldn't hit a barn door on a clear day. It had a hit/miss ratio of 5% during Gulf 1, not 25% like you claim. Of course, they claimed 95% accuracy at the time. 😁😁

I don’t know about the gulf war because back then Patriot was made to shoot down aircraft not short range ballistic missiles. The fact that they pointed it at incoming Scud missiles and hit 25% of them is pretty good considering they weren’t designed to hit those it was designed to hit aircraft going a maximum of Mach 2.5 not a ballistic warhead traveling Mach 12. But shortly after the conclusion of the first Gulf War software upgrades and eventual missile upgrades put ballistic missiles on the menu too and today right now as we sit here in 2024 Patriot has a success rate of greater than 98%. I. 2004 it was greater than 95%. Greater than 98% is practically speaking a 100% succes rate. The only reason a Patriots would not hit its target is because of a fault in the missiles rocket motor for example or some kind of damage to the radar array. It hits whatever you launch it at.

The S-300 and S-400 are garbage. They can’t shoot down a short range ballistic missile like Kinzal for instance or ATACMs apparently. Because the Ukrainians shoot down Kinzals on a regular basis with Patriot and the Ukrainians also blow up S-300 and S-400 stations with ATACMS!! Yes you head me correctly. The Ukrainians use American short range ballistic missiles to destroy Russian S-300 and 400 stations. All the time. As far as the S-500 I would have to assume it’s just more of the same crap with a new sticker on it. They just take the 300 and 400 stickers off and but a brand new S-500 sticker on it and sell it to smaller countries because we will not sell them Patriot. The Germans have a surface to air missiles array that is on par with Patriot. And we also have THAAD. we have GMB and THADD for intermediate range and intercontinental ballistic missiles and Patriot for short range ballistic missiles and aircraft and cruise missiles and drones. And we have French Geppards for drones. It’s a lot more cost effective to shoot down a drone with a 20 mm bullet than a 3 million dollar missile. Oh and I gotgot about perhaps the best antibiotic missile out there. The SM-6 and the SM-2 and 4. The Navy’s Aegis system is extremely advanced and can shoot down intermediate and short range ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft, and drones with extreme accuracy using the SM-6 family of interceptors and they have a range of 230 miles and travel at Mach 4.

All in all the last encounter Patriot vs Russian attack (s) the Patriot defeated such an attack . The Russians threw at it several attacks from totally different locations and PATRIOT WON .THEY USED HYPERSONIC MISSILES AND DEFEATED THEM TOO . Yay

You quote a lot of reports man which are unreliable...reporting agencies are biased by design because to stay viable they need to report what paymasters say to report...
A more reliable data bank is asking why israel is trying to sell all their patriot missile systems and im talking recently and when asked why they said because they cant shoot shit out the sky and thus israel is using their own systems...
That doesnt bold well at all thats a reliable data point because if it works well you use it you dont have a firesale and say they suck...
Point being you can drown in endless reports or you can watch what countries who bought them and used them and what they do...buy more or sell them for pennies and make their own...

You are wrong to say that the Patriot system performed poorly during Desert Storm. In fact, it performed very well, as expected, with over 90% successful engagements against Iraqi ballistic missiles. The whole bad perception was intentionally made by Theodore Postol, who did his research, and he found that most of the downed Scuds fell apart after a successful engagement, and sometimes their warheads exploded on the ground killing people in some Israeli kibbutz. He called it "a poor performance", regardless of the fact that thanks to the Patriot system, out of 40, only one of all targeted by Iraqi forces places were hit - barracks in Dhahran (because of software error in time calculations). This opinion was widely publicized worldwide, and it attached a "tail" to the Patriot system. The longest interceptor of patriot is of 160km range ,, the longest kill of s400 is over 150km. And longest missile has a range of 400km .
And still the missile of patriot are hell lot of expensive..
We aint talking about s500 yet.

It already has made an enormous difference, proved to be able to deflect the latest Russia hypersonic missiles and efectevely created no-fly zones over large Ukraine regions, yeah, I think that can be safely said that it is good.

The "problems" with the Patriot System in the Gulf War that Russian propagandist love to talk about were due to Iraq's junk ballistic missiles falling apart at altitude, causing the Patriots radar to track all the pieces and fire up to 10 interceptors per missile. The book "The Pentagon's Brain" released in 2014 talked about it 9 years before they were sent to Ukraine. So its not just some excuse made up after the fact.
