Better than " somebody's" opinion. This is actually science. I wish headphones were tested like this. Wasted a lot of time listing to experts.

I'd love to see what some of the soundbars can do because 53ms after the video signal is very bad for gaming. Since the Q80T has 10ms lag that's a total of 63ms lag of audio processing alone, let alone what the console needs to process when you hit a button. I've gotten round trip times (button press -> windows pc -> KRK studio monitor) in the 32ms range, which is also the round trip value for Game Boy Advance and PS2 games. Anything higher than 50ms is not good for rhythm games.

this is so much work and the reason rtings is at the top of their game.

Why there no test for famously soundbar in india like F&D SOUNDBAR and bravo soundbar

Awesome when yall going to get the QN85A out. My soundbar is over 5 years old. A Sharp Soundbar Subwoofer system made for 65 inch TVs and up. It was about $500 at the time an it's still good enough for me today.. it's got Bluetooth NFC optical very loud Great Sound an all kinds of settings and it is as long as my 65" TV.

I find your audio reviews to be more methodical than, say, Audio Science Review. Your site and his compare different products (audiophile speakers vs soundbars/wireless audio), but I think there's a lesson to be learned in how to pitch the data into the real world needs of the consumer. He has a better testing instrument, but you better translate the measurements into why the consumer might pick one product over another based on features and sound quality. I'm still awaiting your review of the Sonos Five with Sub (you already bought them), I'm expecting something as good for audio as the Bose 700 Sub + 700 Soundbar.

Okay I need to clear something up I have not seen anything about this and I have searched and I was told that it came from Rtings. That the Samsung QN85A uses ISP panels instead of VA.. Since I have searched and have found nothing on Rtings saying any such thing. I do not think this came from them period but all Neo QLED TVs(QN--A models) us VA panels. NOT ISP.. so I don't know where this is actually coming from but that is false information all the way around

He was the reason why I subscribed and was highly competent in TV tech..
Cedric Demers really needs to get his azz in motion and take one for the team (his team) and stop outsourcing host roles as lazy prez, as it were him as the host and the quality content he delivered as the host, where you really could sense that he was on top of the topics.
and this ain't a critic of the hoast here, that hosting like normal.. only on the aspect that rtings main factor Cedric really needs to get behind a camera again.

@John Doh posted a question on our initial upload of this video, but we had to reupload as we had an issue with it!

To answer his question though, LFE is now obtained at -6dB from our target curve instead of the old way that was -3dB from our target curve.

For his second question, he was right! If a speaker/soundbar has a peak at 30hz, but the bass is really low on the rest of the bass range, this could give us an unnacurate LFE value. This situation would be very rare and if we saw it happens we would mention it in the text of our review. At the moment, no soundbar had that issue during our testing, and we don't expect it to happen often, or even at all!

Honestly you guys should be measuring soundbars and subwoofers outdoors up on a 6ft high platform to get as close to anacoic as possible without using a anacoic chamber, what your doing currently is just measuring your room that the sound bar is in, this isn't very useful to the public since everyones room is different and the room modes have a massive effect on the sound of a speaker especially the bass.

Hello ! Here's my configuration, but I can't see Dolby digital, Dts, DD Atmos or DtsX on my soundbar playing, I've only sound PCM Multi Channel ! So how activating Dolby digital, Dts, etc... encoding playing !
This my materials and connections :
TV Sony kd55x8005c connected with hdmi dolby vision capable from hdmi out ARC tv to Sony ht-g700 hdmi in ARC/eARC port. And on hdmi in from soundbar sony ht-g700 I've connected an Apple tv 4K with hdmi high speed. For info, my Apple and ht-g700 are update and in apple menu dolby atmos setting on. Can you help me why I can't got dolby, dts or other sounds but only PCM (my TV audio output is on numeric and not pcm).
