Goddammit marshall now there is another watch I want in my collection
ОтветитьPartial I got a watch from China that is self winding and I have to go to my local jewelry store at least three times now about running fast and they don’t seem to get it correct and I have to wind it every other day if I wear it or it will not stay wounddo you think this is something you wanna look at and try to fix even though it came from China. It is a mechanical watch. You let me know.
ОтветитьCool video Marshal!!! can you share a link to get the same gasket assorment? Thanks in advance
ОтветитьThanks!
Ответитьcan i have this watch? :( i love that you fix it and it has additional history. i can't ever seem to buy a new watch - one with a story matters more to me
ОтветитьMarshall, Marshall Marshall. How do I get the winding stem to release from the crown? I have used every different penetrating oil I can think of.
ОтветитьOh and it would be nice to mention, what I haven't heard from anyone, how easy that little retaining spring for jewel can break. Real real easy sp I learned recently
ОтветитьAfter watching so many of the recent videos, you can see how much better his cameras are these days.
ОтветитьLove to watch you bringing these watches to life but getting pissed off by the constant interuptions with adverts.!!!!!
Ответитьnice video, I love the finger condoms
ОтветитьYou do not show oiling the bottom of the arbor
ОтветитьCould you mix a bit of pigment (or tea powder) into the lume before you lume the hands?
ОтветитьHey Marshall, i think you are very brave dismantling the mainspring over all your small watch parts😂
ОтветитьYou struck lucky, many a generic mainspring I have purchased has an inner wind that is way too big for the arbor and needs annealing and reshaping.
ОтветитьI use tea on my mortar repairs on stone restoration 😊
ОтветитьHi I've been watching your videos for a while and now made my first investment into the tools need and have already rebuilt my first movement, im a stone mason so this is very different to my day job but thanks to your videos I'm hooked. Thank you from the South Coast UK
ОтветитьNot a brand I’m familiar with
ОтветитьThankyou for another great vid i find them so relaxing to watch even though at this time i really dont have the confidense to attempt a repair just yet , maybe i will give it a try at some point later after watching a few more of your brilliant videos please keep them coming .
ОтветитьHey Marshall, I really like your channel especially when you fix watches that have emotional attachments like family heirlooms and the young man who is interested in learning watch repair and his grandfather bought him that $3.50 watch that you fixed for him. I have emotional attachments to my possessions as well. It's funny I've been watching your channel for several months now and I was wondering what you looked like and I just watched your video about the tools you bought on ebay and the picture you get in your mind s eye when all you know about a person is their voice they never look like what you imagine.
ОтветитьBeen binging this and marks channel.
Saving for your complete kit and a few other things not in the kit.
Being that i tend to like older "tech" i think this would fit me well.
I collect fountain pens and inks and use them daily. Collect and daily use zippos.
Already enjoy soldering and microsoldering electronics and have a microscope with a HD+ 10" screen for microsoldering.
I collect amd use double edge razors and brush and shave soap/cream lol.
This fits right into my wheelhouse
Would you be interested in servicing two baume and mercier auto watches😊
ОтветитьHow do we suggest a projet for restoration.
ОтветитьHi Marshal. The video appeared in my feed today and I was thinking about the lume. Would it be possible to mix some tea into the lume to darken it instead of coating it the lume after it's applied?
ОтветитьAnother great video. Thank You for explaining the details for us. One think that You might add to your explanations are the rational for which viscosity of lubricant is based on the engineering concepts of 'contact force' and drag. Parts like the setting lever spring interact with the pin with a lot of contact force and hence need a higher viscosity oil/grease. Parts like the balance wheel have a tiny contact force and rely on very low drag, hence need the lowest viscocity oil. Please keep up the videos and please keep telling us the details.
ОтветитьI’ve been a viewer for a while, and I’ve watched every single one of your videos probably two to three times each. I’ve been going through somewhat of a difficult time recently (mental and emotional stuff), and I wanted to let you know that you bring me some peace. I watch one of your videos every night to go to sleep, you’re part of my routine at this point. I just cycle through the videos, waiting for you to post another. Love your content man, hope you have a lovely day if you see this. Thank you man.
ОтветитьSorry not sorry, I think I'm going to have to drop my French on the table like a rude Uno hand here. "Racine" is French for "root" and would be pronounced "rah-SEEN" rather than "RACE-een". Aaand, back to our regularly scheduled programming.
ОтветитьANOTHER NEW TOOL 😅❤
ОтветитьThe craziest part for me is your ability to grab the right screw every time. I sometimes go through three different screws at first to find the right one
ОтветитьHi Marshal, have you ever tried food coloring as you’re mixing the lume?
Ответитьlike your pink fingers just kidding
Ответитьlike your pink fingers just kidding
ОтветитьIs that second hand moving backwards or is it the film I'm looking at. ?
Ответитьwater colour paint or gouache to darken lume. You can mix it with other colours so you can make it yellowish...greenish or brownish. mix the colour you want then water it down just so it tints the water. ( About the same density as as black tea)Drop them the hands in leave them for a minute or so and it will stain the lume. Do it bit by bit as once it's stained if it's too dark you have to start again. When you clean the hands it doesn't wash or the colour,
ОтветитьBest watchmaker fixer ever love wristwatch revival the best best best
ОтветитьThe "wall of snow" you keep referring to is your device autoranging to the most sensitive range and the screen zooms in because the signal is so weak. If you had more resolution it would look like a thick black bar across the screen rather than snow. Great work by the way.
Ответитьi think you should have cleaned that dial better but you like them dirty lol or old looking WHATEVER!!!
ОтветитьCurious if I can get you to fix a pocket watch for me it was my great great grandfathers.
ОтветитьI Love to watch your channel and you have inspired me also to start this hobby! I have to ask where you got that big set of generic gaskets from?
ОтветитьEnicar is, IMO, a terrible name. Reversed names usually sound weird. If I were creating a name for a Swiss watch company, I'd pick one of the 26 cantons. Most of them sound "Swissy".
ОтветитьMarshall, I love your videos and have watched nearly all of them. I broke my wrist back in September 2023 and literally stumbled on your channel and was immediately hooked. I have my wife’s grandfathers pocket watch as well as my grandfathers. Once I play with a bunch of pocketwatches off of Ebay I’ll attempt to service them. Thanks so much for the inspiration. You mentioned that you weren’t particularly happy with the amplitude. What could be the cause and what could be done to increase the amplitude? Keep up the great work and thank you for all the great content!
ОтветитьI have the exact same watch and its a nice watch
ОтветитьGreat video, like all of them. Why do you think the amplitude is so low with a new spring? Thanks from Spain
Ответитьthis must be before you started putting the coffee/tea in the lume mixture itself. and the fact that the little bit of black bothered you is why you are so good at your craft. its no longer a hobby, you have taken it to a craft
ОтветитьIs it possible to make the watch run in reverse? Or are ratchet gears stopping you from doing so. I thought of this question when you had to put the mainspring back in upside down from normal.
ОтветитьEnicar was the first diving we sold. It was guaranteed as long as it was checked every year.
ОтветитьIt isn't just you Marshal, I would have redone the hand as well. If your going to do it, do it right.
ОтветитьYou scratch the shit out of those polished hands when you slide them around over the metal surface. 🤦🏼♂️
ОтветитьWhat a sweet little watch.
