Thanks for the upload! Hope to see more soon!
ОтветитьThanks for this masterpiece!!!
ОтветитьJason, thank you so much for your contribution to the Focus. As I noticed, your grip on the pick is very specific, but your technique is very cool and clear. Greetings from Russia!
ОтветитьWhat a treasure this is.
ОтветитьSo great! The world needs more music like focus
Ответитьjust epic! ))
Ответитьi wish I could play like this :)
ОтветитьHavnt listened to the whole album, but since september is coming, i will just listen to cynic that day, getting into this band alot within the past 24 hours haha
ОтветитьSweet! Kelly and Rand chilling in the background too. Good times.
ОтветитьSo ahead of their time. Jason is wearing an Apple Watch.
ОтветитьAmazing!!!!!
ОтветитьTimeless! Wish I was in that room too!
Ответитьthis is gold
ОтветитьIt’s great to hear each instrument isolated from each other. The way things are mixed the guitars blended seamlessly so it’s harder to hear the nuances of each player especially on parts like this. Hearing this is like a whole new song to me even though I’ve listened to this song countless times over 20 years....
ОтветитьSo much Metal! I've played along to this album so many times, but never thought I'd get to see it played. Appreciate this a lot!
ОтветитьFucking wow
Ответить200
ОтветитьThank you for create all that lovely and extreme tecnical songs that was my inspiration in my young metal years. I still hear uroboric demo and focus with fascination. Thanks for up this register video and piece of history of the music we love. From Buenos Aires with love.
ОтветитьAmazing! Any time I see new old footage of you all, I get so excited. I really feel that you all really brought something into the world with this record. It showed great tenacity and creativity. Definitely connected with it a lot when I was studying music and to this day. Thank you for being a part of its creation!
ОтветитьNeeds to be a mini documentary on this record. It is still the yard stick for technical metal imho. Unsurpassed to this day.
ОтветитьI’ve been dreaming about footage of the recording of Focus since it came out, and here I run into this on a random Tuesday..
Thanks so much Jason, if ever there are ways to find more like this I think it will have tremendous value for lots of true fans (i.e. Focus fans, when Cynic was Cynic..).
Jason never gave in any of what Cynic sadly became, he left before that, and him leaving was enough for Cynic to be done permanently. Of all the guys who created this unique piece of metal (I remember I knew instantly my journey was complete when I first heard it back in the day), Jason will always have a special place, the truest of all.
“Human” was the beginning of the Prog death metal movement (Two of the bandmembers being from Cynic) but focus took it to a whole other level! I remember being in high school and telling everybody about that album! Great memories!
Ответитьthank you for sticking to your guns and making the music you wanted to make.
ОтветитьRIP Sean Malone... your music changed my life ❤🙏
ОтветитьAtheist bros and legendary Scott Burns at Morrisound. That guitar tone rips. Wonder how Cynic got it.
ОтветитьTrue geniuses. So precise.
ОтветитьYou and Paul all that's left of the Legend. You guys are like the Shawn Lane of metal.
ОтветитьThis is the Dark Side of the Moon of Metal
ОтветитьGreat Jason... For me wonderful guy...
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this ! Focus is a gem. It is sad you did not continue with music... you were so gifted...
ОтветитьClean and precise as f*ck.
ОтветитьThis guys were (and still are) so complex and talented
ОтветитьUnbelievable and legendary. Sick ESP
ОтветитьAhh man... Focus was a huge chunk of my high school period. Just started getting into metal, and then there was Cynic. Still loving it to bits.
ОтветитьCrazy how young you wre. Great work.
ОтветитьLove the Morbid Angel riffing at the end haha
ОтветитьThat signature double picked Cynic guitar sound is just too sick
Ответитьkiller guitar tone. I also love these mini videos of the focus, unsurpassed to this day.
ОтветитьWas this recorded on a mesa boogie MARK ?
ОтветитьI can hear Scotty's voice now saying, "It's killer", complete with the voice crack. 😆
ОтветитьJason is an obvious technician. He controls the guitar precisely. Like an engineering approach. It's like a lot of cogs meshing together.
ОтветитьThis video is EVERYTHING to me! I was 14 when “Focus” came out and it is the ONLY reason I play drums professionally to this day. Seeing this clip after all this time only reinforces the fact that Cynic was light years ahead of everyone!
ОтветитьBrilliant playing by Jason.
ОтветитьIncredible footage. Focus is an all time classic album. Legendary imo. It was great seeing you and Paul on the Cali Death Podcast. As a fan I'm so grateful for Cynic's music.
ОтветитьThank you for sharing this, Jason. This album with zero hyperbole changed my life, both musically and Spiritually, and I am eternally grateful for that. I agree that the music took a few listens to catch on, but even on my first listen, it still FELT right, it somehow made sense to my ears intuitively, even though I couldn't yet comprehend it. The more that I listened, the more that the music revealed itself to me. I remember specifically when I heard the synth outro to Eagle Nature for the first time was the exact moment when my mind was blown completely open, to where I actually began to weep at the otherworldly beauty I was experiencing. It was overwhelming, and I'm convinced that the transformational art that you all created directly channeled the Divine. Love and Light to you and yours! 🙏💗🌎
ОтветитьJason‘s approach to music and his signature style of playing guitar 👍 we love it!!!
ОтветитьWow just found this after listening to paul masvidaul on a podcast.
Great to see it in studio
Jason your solos are sick bro
