Ответитьi recording program in jvc using panasonic s-vhs tape.. it have fantastic picture when i playback now
ОтветитьI have a sharp S VHS player and I got mine for 25 cents at a yard sale and it all works and has a good picture
ОтветитьI have a Phillips VR960 (with ET) which which has about 8 hours on it. I bought it just before I put a DVD player in my computer. At the time, dedicated DVD players were still quite expensive.
I just bought a NAD 512 CD player for $12.99.
Fascinating information. This was modern tech when I was growing up. Brings back a lot of nostalgia. I have a bunch of Dr. Who VHS tapes to move to the computer, and got a stack of VHS players from the local thrift shop. Hoping either one of these will or work or I can fix one with the assistance of your training videos.
Ответитьgood job!
Ответитьyah yah !! always check those friggin cables!! :D nice. never see S-VHS machines. :( And Laserdisc are rare now.
ОтветитьNice catch :-D, that was one of the better later machines, before vcr's became dirt cheap and rather nasty.
I have a version of your machine, JVC HR-S6855, S-VHS, HI-FI, NICAM, SUPER VHS ET.
But i stopped watching t.v 5 years ago, so ive forgotten how well it did.
White lines around black edges, sometimes over compensation for lack of h.f content.
The old machines had an "Apature" setting for that, i often spent ages just creaping up to the best setting using the customers tv set, just enough to make it look better, no more.
Composite video cable quality and termination impedence could ruin the picture, a lot of shitty scart cables did that :-( (i thought scart was shit anyway).
I don't like those dam ribbon cables, they can be a pain in the butt to get to
Ответить12voltvids..before one year you repair one of good s-vhs vcr its mitsubishi
Ответитьthat was a very good find and another very easy fit to.
ОтветитьBite your tongue. Nothing boring about this video. If I even had all your equipment it would take me a month to set up, test, and make sense of what is presented here. From control track pulses displayed all the way through every demonstration I loved every second. Congratulations on your nugget. I'm going to have to watch it many times over. Can't remember it all. thanks
ОтветитьThe only thing better than a great electronics find is your diagnostic skills. It is impressive how well you know the theory , operation, and repair of so many different pieces of equipment.
ОтветитьI've found several stereos at savers and turned them over for a profit. You just have to go right when they open
ОтветитьDo you have Value Village in BC or did you come down to WA to one of ours? I've gotten some good stuff at VV but also even the Goodwills give out some good stuff like this from time to time! Loved learning about the history of test patterns in this video, too!
ОтветитьDo you think it's worth buying an old amplifier? to be a little better understanding on what kind of amplifier like a power amplifier in the pro audio kind of stuff and it might be from the early or mid 90's?
ОтветитьI got this pioneer auto-reversing, karaoke Laserdisc player. Should I hold on to it or not? do you see revival of this analog format in near future?
Ответить12V;
S-VHS = Hi-Band VHS?
I still have this . Fantastic Unit.
ОтветитьSLHF1000 is betamax vcr dream ..why people need long recording..we need quality
Ответитьu r right..in old tv you didn't see deference .. but..this time.. in HD T.V people knows how is vhs .. betamax ..u-matic ..betacam quality ..i can said the beta family( especially ED beta.. its like DVD quality or more) is the top all time and no format can fight this format in analogu ...the HDCAM and HDCAM SR is still alive ..coming soon...sony will release new other HDCAM VTR broadcast equipment ..the D-vhs( last top jvc) is died and we didn't see it in broadcast station..did u see that ..sony win
ОтветитьVCR Plus, In Europe we used VideoPlus, In order to program and record t.v programs, VideoPlus is no longer used due to DVR being used.
ОтветитьThis guy is very good I think you can fix anything I wish I had went that route when I was younger
ОтветитьET = Expansion Technology
ОтветитьCan't complain about that score! Just a simple cable problem fixed easily!
ОтветитьGeneral Lee FTW :)
ОтветитьI pulled out my dad's old Zenith VRE550 SVHS deck last night and fired it up for the first time in over 20 years. Still works fine! I needed it to check some old tapes to see if they had Hifi tracks on them. Curiously, the later JVC decks I have like the 3910 do not have any way of telling you such info. The Zenith decks were made by JVC and wonder of wonders, the rubber parts for them are still available. I have found some of the belts at the last independent electronics store in my town as well as the full rubber replacement kit online. I think I'll check out the in-town store first but I may just buy the kit from online just in case. On another note, can you tell me exactly which caps are needed for the Sony R5U SVHS deck power supply? I have one also that needs it's caps replaced. Maybe you should offer a kit so we can fix them. Lastly, have you been able to get a Sony SLHF-750 or 900 Betamax to show how to fix those? Fedex dropped one I had shipped from the US and now the mechanism for loading tapes won't come out of the machine. I have the service manual for that model (let me know if you need a copy) but I have no idea what might have broken. I heard that these had a tendency to come off their rails (since the carriage was moveable) resulting in a shop visit, which is probably why they only made them for one year...
ОтветитьHello, Sir! I just purchased a JVC HR-S9911U NOS that was on a warehouse for at least 15 years. It's playing ok but has a problem in the fast forward and rewind modes: it starts at low gear ok but when it changes gears I hear the gears screeching and the VCR turns itself off. Do you think it's just a matter of lubrication? Is it possible to remove the mechanist and put it back wihtout misaligning anything? I have the service manual but it's just 15 pages long. Thanks!
Ответитьhere in the netherlands we had v2000 a system with both side playing like a audiocassette auto tracking heads better picture quality as svhs and the beta
ОтветитьI have a panasonic HI FI VCR and i have tons of movies in HI FI is it worth keeping?
ОтветитьGood score!! I watched every vid u made same as maxxarcade!!!
ОтветитьI fell asleep last night watching this thank you , tonight i am finishing it the picture is great on late model svhs ty for great content
Ответитьthe sony betamax have this future
ОтветитьThis was truly informative. I enjoyed this video. It’s amazing how much knowledge you have. Keep up the great work!
ОтветитьWhat is the difference between yours and a hr-S3912u? I'm looking at a S3912u that will power on but won't load a tape. I'm thinking a mode switch? Your thoughts.
Ответитьyup, caps in the tbc module, and video circuit (inside those vcrs modules) and the power supply We used to call them "panaphuckers" Terrible vcrs especially the "pro line"
ОтветитьWow excellent. Now i understand this adjust charts.
ОтветитьI still have an early 90's AKAI VCR which has also a tape calibration. AKAI called this I-HQ. Unfortunately, the decks in these machines were not very relailable but with good tapes they had a quite good picture. As always very interesting video. I use my increased spare time watching all your great videos. Stay safe and healthy.
ОтветитьHi how do I get the mechanism out of a JVC HR-S860 SVHS VCR, the mechanism seems to be the same as yours, but I cannot take out the mechanism I have removed the screws but still stuck, please advise.
ОтветитьCan you do a tear down of a JVC HRS SVHS model VCR's would love to see one as I am stuck with the mechanism not pulling out though I have removed the screws.
ОтветитьHello! My JVC SVHS HRS5900 appears to have the same tape transport mechanism as yours shown. It's started not accepting tapes and and sounds like something's jammed. Motor mechanism labors, then ejects, leave tape loop inside. Maybe gears out of timing? Any of your videos cover mechanics of this transport? Thanks!
ОтветитьI have a JVC HR-S3800U and a JVC HR-S9911U Super VHS ET machines with exactly the same problem. Depending on the tape, they sometimes play for a few seconds and then go into blue screen mode, on and off. I tried everything I could. Cleaning the heads was the 'obvious remedy', but that did not work. They do record with excellent picture and sound quality and playback 90% of my tapes perferctly, but there are 10% of those tapes that are unplayable. I will try clening those flat cables. If that works, you just saved me U$200.00 (these machines are VERY expensive here in Brazil).
ОтветитьQuesto è un bel video,bravo
ОтветитьGreat information and very interesting.
I still have my low end JVC HR-J238 mono VHS player from 1996 working beautifully with just regular service maintenance through the years.
Greetings from Norway 🙂
So you think it could be possible to modify a standard VHS player, such as a JVC HR-j693 to have an S-Video output?
It's a model that is very similar to a lineup of JVC SVHS players, so I was hoping it may be possible
That $15 SVHS player was an awesome find, jeez, couldn't imagine finding that these days!
What year did these first get released?
ОтветитьAmazing and very informative ! I have exact VCR which i bought new and very little play time, all works well except on eject i have to lift up for tape to eject, (doesn't come out at all without a gentle push up) otherwise it goes back in and loads then shuts off by itself occasionally if its warm from playing it will eject the tape. I almost took to scrap yard and thought was a cheaply made machine (compared to my 1996 Sony ) I look forward to seeing more of your videos,
I have older moderate high end equipment, adcom cd deck and Advent 201 cass deck needs help and more .
I am an audio lover and used to work with oscilloscope and other equipment in the early 70's in the tube era lol.
This model came out in 2001 was the year of manufacturing
ОтветитьAlso I got a question for you to research - Why was the LP mode taken out which to me was the best at least better of EP And if you also find out going to 19 micron heads?? if you do a video on these...Many thanks.
