Mach-E VLOG - Crash details :-(

Hi guys ... I joined in late .. but I can't believe that someone hit the Pony. 🚗🚗 The guy that hit you must have been a Tesla Fanboy. They are hostile people, and are scared that the Pony is going to steal all their Thunder.
Be picky .... just make sure that they do a perfect job. I know what it is like getting a new car ..... and being hit.

I am so sorry for your accident. I hope it gets fixed quickly.

Man that sucks, I would recommend the insurance replaces the lift gate latch due to the stress of impact and check the bumper wiring for sensors. An impact may crush the harness and give problems later on.

You can drive with the trunk open.... no fumes!

It really sucks, especially the hit and run part, but I love the happy twist with the Good Samaritan. And, most importantly, you guys are both okay. I’ve been enjoying your videos so much, whether you’re able to drive the Mach-E or not for a while, I’m certainly not going to stop watching! I’m so excited about this car, but neither my wife nor any of my friends care that much about cars, so you guys have filled a void by sharing your enthusiasm and knowledge in such a personable and relatable way. I'm really sorry about you both being rear ended. I can't imagine how I would feel if that was my Mach E. Hopefully you can get it fixed quickly. Great video.

So sorry to hear about you being rear ended, but glad no one was injured. Don't forget to talk to Insurance company about Diminished Value after the accident.

Sorry to hear about the wreck. It somehow seems like the accident makes it more like its namesake. So glad you are both safe and hope Blucifer can get fixed soon. While in some ways replacement would be better, seems like the replacement wouldn't be a First Edition and Grabber Blue, which would be a shame.

I love the idea of your trip to California and seeing what differences there are in charging, based on what Ford seems to be hinting is coming. Hopefully they will improve the charging speeds on the Mach E (improve the charging curve). It will be interesting to see if you get better charging speeds than Kyle did. I hope that you can make it happen sometime this summer with Blucifer.

Sad state of affairs HOWEVER usually being hit by "uninsured motorist" does not require you to pay the deductible, i.e. fully insured. Hopefully the battery was unaffected...THAT would be a big deal. So let us know the rest of the story. Sorry I couldn't join this in real time; I had another commitment at the time. FYI I have not yet received my MME. Ford has missed three delivery dates, now. Not good. Yes, I have USAA (for over 40 years) and they are GREAT about going after the liable insurance company. So letting them handle it is the right answer. However, I'm skeptical about them renting a Tesla for you...they usually have a $$$ limits that they'll pay. Ford road service should have lined up a tow truck for you...call them...unless you have road service through USAA.

Yea, the problem with Kyle's travel vid: All those comments from people who used it as an excuse to bash the Mustang. I wish he let everyone know of this better charging experience on the way back. I use to really look up to Kyle's videos, but that one left a bad taste in my mouth. Very few base their buying decision on it (or any EV) being a good car for the traveler.

I just purchased my Mach-E last week. I watched your video and I would be devastated, if it would of happen to me. You two are taking the situation really well. Hopefully you’ll be back,driving it soon, and making more great videos

It’s a Ford, the repairs shouldn’t take long.

Don’t know about Colorado, but in Cali you can’t drive on a learners permit without a licensed driver over 25 in the car. Most business auto insurances won’t cover minors / non-licensed drivers.
2+ year delay in DMV issuing license for the multiple violations on a learners permit.

If no one mentions it, you get free Ford Roadside Assistance. Oh, Moab! You can drive through Arches NP.

Patrick, wow man so very very sorry to hear .. 😢 .. good both of you are ok and I know your amazing ride will be back strong 💪.. whatever you do try not to leave your car with the repair shop until they are 100% ready to repair your car .. have all the parts .. they may need to have the car for a few hours to check over your car to identify all damages etc.. but have them give you the car back until all parts are in and they are ready to repair it ..

So sorry about Blucifer! I'm wondering if you saw Kyle's Mach-E road trip video a few days ago on Out of Spec Motoring...seemed like an objective disaster from a charging perspective. Since he's also driving a first Edition Grabber Blue I thought of you. It doesn't seem like you've had nearly as many issues as he did charging...wondering if it's maybe the software on his model. I also have a first edition but haven't road tripped yet...your videos get me excited for my first trip in July, but his video made me terrified haha.

I’m really sorry to hear about this, you two seem so nice! As an idea, I’d be very interested to see the repair process documented as video content. Unfortunately this is a situation other Mach e owners will be going through at some point!

Edit: also don’t be afraid to gently mention your use of the vehicle on this channel when you take it in, that might help get the process moving (with a new vehicle like this I think Ford might want to help out as much as possible)

I am trying to buy a Mach e but the dealers here are adding $3995 value added tax even if I order online. I would expect that the online price would be honored but this does not appear to be the case so it looks like a Tesla for me.

Not trying to preach here - but a brand new vehicle should have FULL coverage - including towing and rental coverage. Additionally, you should have GAP insurance - to cover the difference between the value the insurance company assigns to your vehicle (if totaled) and the actual replacement cost. One idea - see if you can get the diagnostic information from the repair shop (or get a cheap diagnostic device) to see what safety systems the Mach-E activated during or just before the collision. I am horrified and so VERY sorry that you have to go through this. I have my own Mach-E on order - and now I am paranoid. I wish you the best with your repair experience and dealing with the other insurance company. Your videos are so good.

I now found a dealer that will honor the online price but have now discovered that new orders for online Mach e’s might not see delivery until 2022. Apparently, Ford has stopped shipping online orders for new Mach e’s. Anyone have more information about this? I am told that Ford is fixing something on the Mach e’s but I can’t get a definitive answer. Any information would be appreciated.
