I did it myself with the Woodglut plans. I think this is the best way to find out how to build it.
ОтветитьThis time I will do it manually with the help of Woodglut designs.
ОтветитьIs there a risk that the wood could be forced down by the blade when it´s not supported where the blade cuts the wood ? Due to the height difference from the sled and the wood ?
Ответитьgood job. but the fence should always be behind the panel you're cutting. even Norm corrected that design on his second sled.
ОтветитьBrilliand video, and xactly what I wanted to make for ages.. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьAll your videos are perfect. Keep up the good work.
Ответитьvery good !!!!!!
ОтветитьWhat brand of table saw do you have?
ОтветитьI have noticed that you quite often use CA glue in your projects. Please be careful because the vapors that come from CA glue can be harmful to your eyes!!!!!
ОтветитьAlex i just watched this again ,very nice presentation ,thanks for sharing ,o and sorry about the age comment last year
ОтветитьI'm new to woodworking and read that the miter gauge that came with my table saw was not up to task. After a couple of 'unsquare' shelves, I proved this to be correct. I then found this video (was already a subscriber) and built this easy sled. Now my cross-cuts are spot-on! Thanks Alex!
ОтветитьGreat video, I am going to make this my first project.
ОтветитьGreat video Alex...did you leave the runner long on both ends of do you trim the ends. Thanks
ОтветитьYou sure know how to make a polished video! Perfect length, camera focus, lighting... Everything! I'm following along in my garage right now building this jig. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьAlex, great video. What is the difference between a panel sled and a crosscut sled? Don't they accomplish the same thing?
ОтветитьWhat kind of saw is that? (brand, and model)?
Ответить已作.謝謝.祝你好運
ОтветитьI was just curious as to how long and wide that sled is?
ОтветитьHi Alex, I have just purchased an identical table saw from Axminster and notice in your video that your riving knife appears to be lower than the height of the cutting blade. This is not the case on mine, it has been engineered to sit above the height of the blade. Have you modified your riving knife or purchased an after market version?
Thanks, Mark
Olá! Gostaria de saber se vc sabe onde comprar uma serra que faça um corte duplo.
gosto muito de seus trabalhos parabéns.
i find using dimes works good for runner shims
ОтветитьWhat if my table saw is only about 18' wide and 24' long?
ОтветитьShould have squared the fence with glue, then punch a few screws in it to keep it solid. That way the glue will set exactly how you squared it without any of those minute variances when using screws to attach.
ОтветитьAs always, Simple and efficient videos and home made jigs
Great video!
Thank you, the sled appears to be very particle and useful, I appreciate your fixtures videos, they are useful for what I can and what I want to do.. thanks
ОтветитьNice sled Alex
ОтветитьI think your clamping system is great, I go to the extreme and use my anvil which is a 14" piece of rail I got at the local rail line. Still makes a great anvil for my needs.
ОтветитьThank you for the instrx and the 5 cut link. Cheers
ОтветитьGood job!
ОтветитьAlex, very nice. I see you are home for a vacation. Have a great time.
ОтветитьWelcome back Alex...looking forward to part 2....i have an old kity 1619 that i am setting up and have just fitted a full sliding table system off of the updated schappach presica 3.0 it takes up a lot of room in my small shop ! i am beggining to think a couple of decent shop built sleds would have been a better option..lol
ОтветитьGood explanation Alex, looking forward for the next segment.
ОтветитьI need to make some of these for my new/ old saw that I got up and running. Great job!
ОтветитьYou didn't show how you made the runner the exact width of the slot which is the most tricky part if you don't have a thicknesser.
Ответитьhi Alex the wood u used for the runner is Iroko it has a oily finish on the wood this wood is used on wooden windows
Kristian Doherty
Nice job on the sled, I'm currently making a sled for jointing small stock and one for making picture frames. You can't beat a sled for repeatable accurate cuts.
Regards,
Bob
Nice video. Keep up the good work.
ОтветитьGood explanation and project Alex
Cheers
Mike
Nice job Alex. The runner strip looks like mahogany. Thanks for posting.
ОтветитьWant to build one but I have one of those portable table saws that have one of the enclosed t slots that are a pain to work with. Might build a table to go over it with proper slots in.
ОтветитьTop job Alex love the Steve Ramsey clamps.
ОтветитьSeems like a lot of people making sleds. I myself just made crosscut sled a couple episodes back. Nice panel cutter, reminds me a lot of the new Yankee workshop! I'll be watching for part 2
ОтветитьGreat video Alex, I'm looking forward to part 2.
Take care, Carl
nice job how old are you
ОтветитьLooking forward to the 2nd one :)
Great video as always.
