I'm 68 and all of my life I've heard how bad the UK is. Like all countries we go through good and bad patches. Like everyone in the West we've currently got one or two problems but the great thing is we always work through them and choose the right long term solutions. See how we're currently working through the trans issue. I'm not so sure of the future in other countries which seem to be having extreme problems. I've read the history of the UK over the period of my life and the actuality of what happened wasn't as I was led to believe as I lived it so the answer is ignore the lying media, they hate you and don't trust them.

I hate how people compare UK to Australia . Leave these two countries alone . Every country has good and bad points . Just live your life to the fullest . This lady has been out of Australia for sone time now and she does nit know what is going on . We do have nice restaurant food in Australia . If you look you will find . Both countries are expensive now , especially after Covid . You get 4 weeks holiday . Christmas break is a public holiday . Sydney transport system is being updated and we will be having trains every three minutes . Please appreciate both countries, as no country is perfect . Thank you !

Bali is 3 hours from Perth and I've had flights for $200 return. My wife gets 6 weeks leave. Salaries, overall, are much higher than the UK. They just are.

I'm in my early 50s and living in the UK comfort zone. Life is fine but the UK worries me. Our growing issues are easy to find on YT and I watched a few YTs on why not to move to Australia and the reasons were trifling in comparison to reasons to leave the UK. However, my wife has Multiple Sclerosis, so with that comes the fear that the medical care she gets in the UK [which, despite the crumbling state of our health service is good] would be lacking in Australia. Not because the health system is bad but because she wouldn't be entitled to it as an immigrant. What would her likely care situation be if I were to accept an offer from a company in Australia to relocate? The offer is in Melbourne by the way. Appreciate there may be different situations depending on State.

Am an Aussie but yep agree English Marmite is better than Vegemite, as its bit saltier, as you say spreads better and doesn't have the slightly weird taste Vegemite has. Though if you are talking salty spreads then Bovril is king so awesome - its just so bloody expensive and in the tiniest jars ever here! Vegemite cheesy scrolls are good though.

There is some really good cinema from Australia the problem is there's no investment - The Castle, The Interview, Priscilla, Muriel's Wedding, Kenny, The Dish, Red Dog, Dundee films, Road to Nhill are some very good movies just don't have the Hollywood capability but the stories are great!

Pork Pies are classic with Branston Pickle and the Plough Mans Lunch with a good pint of Guiness! Meat pies are fine too a delivery mechanism for tomato sauce (ketchup if you are fancy!).

Australia and probably other countries leave accrues so you can sacrifice some leave to have more the next year - dont take leave for a year then have 40 days and then still have leave for xmas time. Can always take leave without pay too not the greatest but possible.
