also this way -- no heavy pressure on your home electric system on evenings
ОтветитьReverse in?
ОтветитьYou are cheap
ОтветитьYou have money to buy two Tesla's and you can't run another 240 electric line?
ОтветитьPay for another 240 electric line for fast charging so you won't be limited in your car's usage. Good luck
ОтветитьInteresting video. I'll just mention that I was able to get my electric company to reimburse the cost of the wall charger. Many states have similar deals. With little work you could have something that looks first class vs the kludge you've got. It's certainly functional but you might be able to do better without spending much.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьYou say "Cheap", but you're only talking about up front cost. Depending on the weather, Level 1 charging is VERY wasteful, unless you've got a PHEV or something. You can measure this with a simple amp meter, that typically comes with a WiFi plug for a 120 outlet. Measure how much power goes into your car, and see what the WiFi plug reports. I am currently wasting about 20-30% of the power coming out of my wall to charge my PHEV, because I'm using Level 1 at the moment. It's the reason I'm upgrading to Level 2 this summer, because that only wastes about 10% or less. How much it saves you in actual dollars comes down to your electricity rate, but if you live in a winter climate then Level 1 is typically wasteful to the point where you might as well make the proper upgrades sooner.
For your garage's situation, it's probably better to get a NeoCharge splitter and plug both cars in to Level 2. I believe they allow you to charge both cars at 20A, but they most definitely will let you charge one at 40A, before automatically switching to the other car after the primary outlet completes its charge.
Defo reverse in so you don’t rip the lines out of a car on way out
ОтветитьThanks!
ОтветитьShould just buy one of those automatic switches. When one cars is done it'll switch to the other.
Ответитьclickbait crap
Ответить2 Teslas and you can’t hardwire a Tesla level 2 charger. 🤦♂️
