World Explorer - Rivages du Monde and Maud - Hurtigruten at Douglas IOM 11 09 22 4K

11th September 2022 - Another fantastic early morning to capture the arrival of two cruise ships arriving in Douglas.

Luxury exploration ship World Explorer (Rivages Du Monde) beat me to it and was already in the bay when I got there, Maud (Hurtigruten) approaches from the north in a beautiful sunrise.

World Explorer was to anchor in the Bay but after holding position for some time a decision was made to cancel the visit, the swell in Douglas Bay being deemed too high for tendering.

Maud berthed for the last time this year on the Victoria Pier as per previous visits.

The changing weather of September signals the end of the cruise ship Season, one last video to come featuring the spectacular Maiden arrival of Hapag Lloyds own exploration ship Hanseatic Spirit...
