I respect petersons political view a lot ,even though we dont always agree. But listening to his old psychology lectures is what I find the most interesting. One, as a psychology student trying to just surround myself with the subject. Second as a person who wants to be a better version of themself.

I was sheltered as a child and I thank god that I fell on my face so hard as a fresh adult. I failed so hard and it taught me how to be strong and take my failures and make them into my strength!

Two years ago I had a really bad out of body panic attack and ever since I’ve been trying to do exposure therapy by myself. Going to events, concerts, places but always having a few crutches so I can feel safe. Like knowing where the exit is, bringing snacks, having my keys with me etc. it helps a lot and most of the time I forget I’m anxious. I am becoming braver and it’s so nice to feel like I’m not alone. And to hear his words about it. He is a genius and we’re all becoming braver!!! I survived 100% of every day.

Hello there I had a panic attack on 9th march where as he said my unconscious protective bubble burst and I was violently thrust into the harsh reality of life. But now each day I'm willing to face my fear.

The internal problem is how do you deal with tragedy and malevolence, and you can say well? I'm not prepared. It's like yeah fair enough

I was too overprotected by my overbearing mother because of my autism and I suffer alot from anxiety but now I force myself to be more selfrelient and challenge myself to do things myself.

I may be a bit of an introvert but l have rather little fear!

My father did not know how to educate me, he only knew YELLING, my mother was over protective : I'm 23 now and it's very hard for me to get my act togheter and be an autonomous adult (I take psych meds to help me function because I have mental illnesses)

My family adopted from China a boy and he said the only person in his life in China that helped him which says grandpa and he said when he was 5 he learned how to kill snakes and he was killing them when he was 5

I’m a big fan of Jordan, so I wouldn’t like this to be taken as a criticism of him or his work.
I think here he might have expanded his example of agoraphobia a little wider to include men, instead of relying on the cliche of an older menopausal woman. Many men marry a strong, emotional stable woman as a shield too, it is subtle and nuanced but it happens a lot. They may reject their birth family and friends for her, they may also subjugate their ideas to placate her. Tammy was an avid foster parent the archetypal mother figure, was he more emotionally dependent on her than he cared to admit to himself and this caused him overwhelming distress when she became apparently terminally ill?
What ever he is suffering from, I hope he recovers soon. Goodness knows we could do with a fresh and unfettered viewpoint in these current troubled times. I wonder what he would say about our response to this novel virus, what would he make of the demonstrations and riots that are rocking our world?
