Jazzinc 1989 Batmobile Review - Test Sample

Lots of fitting issues and the paint finish is far from flawless, sorry but at that price it should be close to perfect!

Could you please provide the dimensions to the Batmobile base piece? How tall it is, how wide, and the depth? Trying to plot where I can mount it with the base to see how tall both the base is and then the Batmobile with the base. Much appreciated! Thank you!

If there was a Gentlemen's Agreement to not review this, knowing it's not the final product, and there are unresolved imperfections and issues pointed out by the Artist(s) in advance, and acknowledged by the reviewer beforehand, then I believe this wasn't done in good faith.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but this is just my observation of the situation as you presented it.

I'm a long time collector, for close to 30 years, 35 if you include comic books. I don't possess, or have even seen a collectible that was flawless, in-person at least, it arguably doesn't exist. With that said, I think there has to be a reasonable expectation, a understanding that an art piece can't be perfect, yes including this disclaimer(ed) 89' Bat Mobile review sample. He's said things such as "accurate" and "improved" if I'm not mistaken, but never "perfect", I assume to believe he knows better than to do that. The actual physical batmobile on the studio stage set wasn't even flawless from many 1st hand accounts! But I will most definitely hold Joost and Jazz Inc. to their word to produce a Piece that they truly believe is faithful to their artistic vision. To give us something superior to what's currently available in the market at the moment, maybe even for the foreseeable future.

We can both agree there's alot of vitriol in this collecting hobby, and it has absolutely permeated this project here. A hobby based on opinions, nostalgia and fuzzy memories and funded on ideally, disposable income. I take a lot of what I hear with a grain of salt, and usually make my decision solely on my opinions. Nothing that I've seen, nothing that I've read thus far has diminished my excitement on receiving my 4th Batch copy. I'm in no rush to receive it, I rather wait for all the bugs in kinks to be ironed out. And also to figure out where I'm going to park this monster!

Other than that, it was a solid review for what it was. I hope it wasn't too heavy-handed, as this was not my intention. I just want to stay young, stay joyful and excited about all the great stuff from my childhood.

I'll be waiting on your final review. I'm sure things will all be sorted out.

Evidently the Jazzinc body for the 89 has warpage and dents. They are saying these defects wont be fixed. If this is the case then Danoby is proven right. People are discussing this unfixable issue in the group. Joost claims its in the mold so it cant be fixed. Beware people, your $1500 car is likely going to arrive defective and not as promised nor shown in the prototype.

I realise this is a test sample but must admit, I'm a little disappointed at the product so far. The satin paint color (flip/flop paint with green/purple tones) seems to have gone & been replaced with a gloss black paint that shows many signs of orange peel & embedded dust particles. Also, the mold sink & dent marks are concerning. I'm rooting for JazzInc to get this right for production.

Many people are upset because they just can’t afford these items and Hot Toys and other manufacturers are not going to do these! Detail is a big deal on Jazzinc products. I have the first 3 vehicles and I’m very happy with them. I have to say I have been lucky with shipping/delivery services not damaging my vehicles. Unfortunately I have other things going on so I could not get this one so I will enjoy other people vehicles in their collection. Very good video explaining things.

So do have to return the first one?

Nice but a few things needed... more matt n less gloss on the paint job,little brighter light on the exhaust & instead of magnets 4 the wheel logos they could of made them 2 screw in...like I said nice

I paid for my shipping the other week and not long after got a email saying its delayed as the so called test samples had a problem. But still not knowing what it is. So now I see and hope Joost fix it.
But again full respect to you for showing it. I agree with you I can't see a problem showing the problem as it shows he is taking action on it. Other reviews not showing will lose respect.

Place the wet test product into a tub of rice to dry it up, a la wet smartphone drying tactic? xD Otherwise interesting "test review" copy of the vehicle. I hope Joost doesn't send out Batman Return Catwoman for a "test review", that would be pretty weird and embarrassing as their first 1/6th scale figure release.

Waiting for the comparison with the hot toys (wich I sold the 2.0 to have this one)

I watched a few reviews on this vehicle and this is the most thorough and honest one that I've seen. It also gives you a better idea of scale than any other review

I really don’t see the issues. We have been knowing about this test batch for months. The only issue in my opinion is the shipping carrier that damaged the product and that was the whole point of the test batch. I’m guessing the product is now going to be delayed.

Is the paint supposed to be more in line with Batman 89 or Batman Returns? I love Batman 89, but I'm certainly no expert on the exact paint details. To my eyes, it looks closer to Batman Returns in terms of it appearing to have a more glossy look to it. Like I said, I'm no expert, but that's my first impression. Apart from the other issues the Hot Toys version has, namely not being exactly the right scale and other inaccuracies, I'd probably give it the edge at least in terms of the color just looking closer to 89. Again, coming from a novice, so someone could say the Jazzinc is actually way closer to Batman 89 in terms of paint and they could be right, but just comparing this video with videos of the HT, those are my thoughts.

Thank you for your honesty! I got roasted on facebook for asking an out things. Notice no one is talking about the bullets that are not painter brass and the hot toys had that detail! $1500 and the bullets are not painted brass! That is ridiculous! Huge miss that is not expensive! And all panels should line up for the price. I mean, Hot Toys panels line up?

I’m actually in shock with how low quality this product seems to be. I was considering the catwoman figure but there’s a lot of red flags with this company.. still!

Where did the water that caused the big damaged spot on the box originate from? Is it from the tank that holds water for the vapor effect?

My quick thoughts... I think Joost should have a STRONG conversation with his manufacturer partner in HK. You only have only opportunity to make a first impression and they couldn't even get 40 test/reviewer samples out the door, free of issues. This is unacceptable from their HK partner and it makes Joost + JazzInc look bad since this vehicle represents a lot of hard work for Joost and their is a lot of anticipation from the customers who have ordered this piece. Not to mention that there is also a good amount of people who are looking for the opportunity criticize Joost + JazzInc...

Thank you for being transparent about the experience with JazzInc and the vehicle. I hope you get a replacement and can provide a comparison between versions. At the end of the day, I hope the final production piece is a 10/10 for collectors.

I got my Zack Snyder JL Batmobile from them. Got some issues as well, and Joost also responded well. But, he also asked me to do the review after he sent out parts replacement. And I did the review anyway.
So, I agree with you on the transparency would benefit us collectors and the company themselves.

Your machine gun being unable to stay upright, saw it on Justin's car as well. He was holding it all the way while reviewing, so that viewers wouldn't notice there was an issue.

Hope your replacement arrives pretty soon, and please do a comparison. Great video btw!

Is there any dirt in the paint?

The guns can't sit on their own in a raised straight parallel position?

Were your shin break covers already scratched like that?

The sound from the fan is super annoying. But good so that you don't leave it on and kill the motor I guess.

I would have waited several days before doing an electrical test to make sure it was dry.

Good review. Really appreciate you deciding to take a leap that most reviewers won't do. I appreciate you you being honest and letting other collectors know what to look for with me being one of them. I do have a question though, when you receive or if you receive a more better quality one do you get to keep the test one or do you have to send it back?

I thought it was your camera but it's not. You can see it in the outdoor shots with natural lighting. The rims are gold..... 🤦 Lololol omg. What a huge inaccuracy. Good Lord.
