My Hero Academia's Art is Actually Ridiculous

I've never read the mha manga, but ive always been amazed by Horikoshi's art. As a beginner artist this stuff is genuinely amazing.

We got completely screwed on the Dabi vs shoto fight, they cut so much of it. The manga was so brilliant and it was so much better than how it was animated

To be honest, I like his old Akira esque style more. His newer style feels half hearted

. It's a cartoony artstyle , yet it's drawn really conservative most of the time rather than taking advantage of it's cartooninessness and vice versa.

Despite requiring a lot of work, skill and talent, it still comes off as pretty mediocre to me.

Yea the Art is absurd. My hero will never catch up to series like Naruto and OP but theirs def an argument the art is genuinely better regardless if you like the other two more stylistically.

This manga has one of the worst anime adaptation artistic assassinations- MHA is one of the best looking manga out there, be it stylistically, because of consistency, how dynamic it is, etc. This has to be one of the easiest manga to read, because of how much of a visual treat it is.

Horikoshi is a legend, I don't know how he managed to draw like this weekly. With artists like Gege and Fujimoto breaking and having to adopt simpler/rougher artstyles to keep up with their schedules/comfort, I don't know how he managed. It's unreal.

He might not be an amazing writer, but he is definitely one of the absolutely best manga artists of shonen jump's whole history. Pairing Horikoshi's art with a good story like FMA or Fire Punch would surely be instant success.

u can say the same about berserk artstyle but u do gotta give props for the great manga panels

Totally agree, I read the whole manga (what has been published at the time obviously) after watching season 3 and god damn I did not expect it to be such a high quality and more over, so much better than the anime. SPOILERS!! For example the scene where Twice dies in the show is absolute ass comparing to manga. The whole chapter of Shigaraki's back story lost all of it's intensity, details, darkness and sense in the anime, which is why many didn't really understand why he became a villian at all. And holy shit, that arc when Deku becomes like The Dark Knight, all alone, beating bad guys, saving those who despise him and all of that, every page was a fucking masterpiece in manga, completely black backgrounds, everything is so dark, hopeless and moody, and obviously shit was just non existent in the anime

for him details in face are sign of masculinity, that's why feminine male characters and girls don't have nostrils and have simpler face shapes, while more masculine guys are more definited

If horikoshi has 1 million meat riders, I'm #1. If he has 10, I'm #1. If he has 0, I died, because good lord!! fave mangaka, no doubt. I like the story, but as an artist?? I'm such a fan. his spread pages are so!! ugh, I love art. wish to be as good as him.

I watched the anime until the beginning of season 4. I really loved the story and the characters, I saw some pannels of the last scans and I stopped to watch the anime to buy and read the manga. I am only at volume 7 but after seeing your video I know I have made the good choice. The anime don't do honour to the art style of the author. I can't wait to read something I haven't already see in the anime. This is really a great manga.
