This 3D Printer is a Juggernaut - 6 Month Review Update

Weird. Uncle Jessy has massive issues with his Prusa MK4 and his Bambu Lab X1C. :) Maybe FDM Printing is just nothing for him.

Every community has “a holes.” A lot of the ones I’ve encountered in general 3D printing forums aren’t making negative comments about Bambu, but dumping on everyone with a more basic machine. Comments like “laughs in Bambu” following a member showing a print that took a long time on their Ender.
It sucks because it deters buyers who want a quality machine but don’t want to be lumped in with pretentious d bags.

Have you given a g10 build plate a shot? I have yet to have a print that wasn't 100 released from the build plate once it cooled. for me G10 works the way people describe PEI working. Add in the fact that it holds it's shape so it can compensate for slightly warped beds. Lightspeed has some pretty hig quality ones.

Okay guys from a real everyday user I disagree with the sons complaint. It’s not THAT loud! Especially with the door shut. It’s moving so fast it’s going to make some noise but it’s quieter than my Ender 3 if that’s anything

So bout to pull the trigger I think on some Bambu stuff. I know in the past you have always preferred the .6 Nozzle. Do you recommend the .6 over the .4 on this printer. I know you liked it when you switched. Just curious. I am debating between the X1C and the P1S.

So you ran the printers for 6 months without adding any form of lubricant..... wild

My x1 wont print with the abs in the ams. I dried it 8 hours at 80 degrees. Put it in the ams. Then when I select the 3d print after I get to choose the filament to use. Abs is there but its not a clickable option. Do you know why?

Is Bambu lab planning on a unit with more size capacity?

Why do you always come on like a late night commercial? Louder than anything that was playing before and just as obnoxious.

Did they improve the noise level in general? Maybe shut down the fan when not printing?

does getting a smooth surface depends on the filament or the printer?

As someone looking to get into 3D printing, I can say I’m sold on not buying one of these printers.

when are we likely to see a new version of the x1?

My only concern is support after a new printer comes out. Without it being open source, parts will be at mercy of B-labs. I am still on the fence on ordering one because of this one issue, Has anyone been able to source outside parts just in case?

Hey Uncle Jessy, I am a bit torn with printers and need some solid feedback. I started my 3d printing journey with a Prusa mini and have been wanting to upgrade in the near future. I’ve been wondering whether I should go with the Prusa MK4 or go even higher on my budget and get the X1CC. I’ve never really printed a lot of multi color prints but the thought of having that capability sounds cool to me. So in your opinion where should I lean towards getting the X1CC or just X1C or the MK4?

About the hum... can you unplug it?

Let’s be honest and quit being paid off by bamboo. These printers are not juggernauts they’re not work horses they are hobby grade fast, printers plain and simple .

What is the full list of spare parts you would recommend to pick up when ordering your first X1 ?

I was going to subscribe because I enjoy your videos but you don't respond to anyone in the comments so thats a deal breaker for me. It would be nice if you took the time to address/answer some of them...I realize you may not have time to answer them all...but this video is pretty old and I didn't see one response from you to your commenters.

Would you recommend the x1c for quality . I'm looking for a printer with the best quality you can get from a printer. I have the ender 3 s1 pro and it does pretty decent but I can't get rid of the ringing or z banding .

My “electronics” fan seemed to have a flat spot on a beating or something. Stripped it down and hacked a Noctua fan in the same place as the stock fan. The ever present hum (or in my case, the horrific grinding) is no more.

I went through all the comments and I didn't see. I cannot be the only one who wants to know what filament that was that was used to print he Magneto helmet?!

Replace the MCB Fan. That will stop the hum.

Looking at the Reddit for Bambu Labs it seems like this printer has been one of the biggest failures to build a reliable and fast FDM printer by a company in a longtime! In just 2 days there would have to be over 100 posts with everything from complete bricking of the machine, to unsolvable quality issues, ongoing print failures on machines just a couple days old etc etc… For the price I’d feel more comfortable pulling out my 10+ year old reprap than making space on my table or my bank account for this thing.

Have you tried printing anything in nylon on any of your printers, if so which one worked best. I am looking to purchase one in the next few weeks but I want to be able to print some products in Nylon.

Those roller things, could you not just print some in nylon/pc ?

I don't have a bambu yet but I hope To get one soon, and I had a question and emailed them and got a reply about 35 minutes later which is really promising and exciting!

Hi ... I would LOOOOOVE to know more about the accuracy of this printer. For me accuracy is the most important thing, rather than speed. But I couldn't find ANY videos about the accuracy. I mean is like 1cm diameter in hte CAD program = 1cm printed? Or like 0.1mm = 0.1mm printed? You know what I mean? This is holding me back to buy one of theses machines right now. Thank you so much.

Never can find an answer on if you can use generic and with this printer.

I spray windex, lightly wipe off leaving a light residue thats smooth. and everything comes off very easily when it cools.

which part exactly does he mean that he has to replace that often. Any other parts i should order to stock when buying the printer?

I've been fantasizing about this printer and thinking it would be so hassle free and do amazing prints. I want, as makers muse said, to use it as a tool and not as a hobby. I have a vyper, it mostly works, but something that I can just feed prints to and make projects with is what i've wanted, these issues and silly hassles are going to make me hold on to my money until they fix them.

My machine doesn’t hum at all when on but not printing.

Mine broke in 70 hours of use

I haven’t got mine yet but I wish they had advertised more adequately how the nozzle change works… Since I’m not new to printing I made sure to order extra heaters and thermistors and took advantage of the free shipping by also ordering some nozzles. I like that I don’t have to deal with hot tightening with this machine and I thought I might be able to do a pretty fast nozzle swap by having alt nozzles pre set with a heater/thermistor but I now see that the hot end fan is attached to the nozzle assy… If I had known I would’ve ordered some extra fans and doing so now I have no idea when I’ll get them.

Hi Uncle Jesse can you please help me i need your help. I'm trying to print quite tall cylinder shapes on my elegoo saturn and the prints are saying 6hrs but the print is taking 22hrs?? i can't find anyhting on how to setup chitubox for faster printing and i know the Bottom lift speed and lifting speed have a big part to play but i'm to afraid to change these. can you please do a video showing in depth what we can do with these setting for chitubox V1.9.4. thank you so much

Ill buy V2 when quirks are sorted out. And keep to Prusa in the meantime. Or should I go Bambu right away? I dislike tinkering just the slightest, and hence I hate Creality with a passion
