Kenya will start feeling the impact of higher energy and food costs in the coming weeks due to the ongoing military and political tiff between Russia and Ukraine. The ongoing conflict is set to disrupt Kenya’s importation of wheat from Russia and Ukraine which stood at 11 billion shillings and 5 billion shillings respectively in 2019. The disruption has further sent global oil prices to hit 105 dollars per barrel indicating that Kenyans must brace for higher fuel prices in the next round of review.
