I grew up in east Germany after the wall was torn down but I still experienced all the influences this time had. Especially when it comes to food; My grandpa always made East German food. Especially Jägerschnitzel with tomato sauce and pasta being one of my favourites when I was a kid. The biggest difference in food is how the salads are made. When I ordered a potato salad in the west for the first time, I was shocked. The potato salad was made with potatoes,vinegar, oil and spices which I’ve only tasted with green salads. In the east we make most of our salads with mayonnaise and other things like shown in the video.

You are wrong. If you Look at the History (Not TV) you learn the east German is Germany . The DDR is" das Deutsche Reich," or "the German Empire. " The part you now as German IS Fake. Its from youre country still in Military in "Germany". The worldwar is still Go. If you give Germany free, the war will end.

Im german, my mom lived outside the wall and my dad inside (they met long after the wall opened tho) and my dad always ate Jägerschnitzel because they didnt have normal meat in the DDR, they had no cars and no tv, which also led them to find out the wall was open 2 weeks after it did. he also went to a bräulerei around the corner, which he said had the best bräuler (chicken) he ever had, thank you for making this dish!❤
