Can you measure or calculate the size of the said sphere from your glass 4d object?

Why don't you up that ring idea and mount it in a gyroscope?

Adam, I loved this video, but I was screaming at my tv screen , “Adam, add a slow turning motor to another base with an on/off switch! “ With a motor, the sculpture would look slightly different every time you walked into the room. You would probably have to add something soft to the bottom, so it wouldn’t vibrate off the furniture or shelf. Just a thought….. Joan

I cringed every time Adam caught the Boy's Surface with the bell jar when lifting or placing it. Somehow, he didn't crack it or shatter it. 😅

from a sculpters viewpoint, to me most interesting/difficult piece is the connecting points of the tubes transforming into openings, meaning its inversions. If you would have to do this in wood it would be pita to sand.

I love Cliff’s passion when he tries to explain the fourth dimension. It’s such a difficult concept to wrap one’s head around and visualize because it doesn’t exist in our familiar three dimensional world. It’s akin to explaining quantum physics—a complex idea that challenges the laws of physics. Therefore, describing it becomes an arduous task, and visualizing it seems impossible. Existence is incredibly beautiful, complex, and mysterious, allowing us to consider the seemingly impossible as possible. :))
Adam, when you were using the table saw, I feared for your fingers! Always maintain a firm grip on the fence when pushing the block, just in case it kicks back and avoids pulling your hand toward the saw. The display turned out very cool, and the piece is incredibly beautiful! As Cliff said, it’s outstanding! 👏👏

The mount was great idea but instead of brass tips use rubber suction cups painted the same colour as the brass. Would it hold it sufficiently over time maune even slightly srin load the holders. That's my thinking anyways loved the video and huge fan from the UK. 👍

Hey, I thought I’d expand on Adam’s explanation of the Boy’s Surface a bit. Think of it like a Möbius strip, but taken to the next level. Neither the Möbius strip nor the Boy’s Surface has an “inside” or “outside” in the usual sense. The Möbius strip is a flat surface that, when twisted and connected in three dimensions, gives us this one-sided shape. The Boy’s Surface is similar, but it starts with a sphere and needs four dimensions to truly exist without crossing over itself. What we see in Adam’s sculpture is like a shadow of this 4D shape cast into our 3D world.

This sculpture represents the Boy’s Surface by flattening it into our three-dimensional space, kind of like how a shadow gives you a 2D outline of a 3D object. But since we can’t perceive the fourth dimension, we see the shape crossing over itself, which wouldn’t happen if we could see it fully in 4D. Imagine taking a sphere and turning it inside out, but instead of just flipping it, you twist it in such a way that it becomes a single, continuous surface—no inside or outside, just one seamless sheet.

The Boy’s Surface twists and folds in on itself because it’s trying to fit a shape meant for four dimensions into three. This twisting is why the sculpture has such an intricate and looping form. It’s a bit like trying to fit a round peg in a square hole—you end up with something that doesn’t quite make sense in our usual way of seeing things, but it’s a beautiful glimpse into the complexity of higher dimensions.

Dude you are awesome but for the love of god put the priceless glass object DOWN when you are feeling super hyper active and fidgety. And not for nothing but the way you simultaneously jump around verbally and physically in those moments is anxiety inducing and frustrating on a level I have never experienced before 😂 especially considering you don’t edit out any of the jarring camera repositioning or abrupt topic changes. My blood pressure has never been so out of control 😭

The closures / bell jars are all too small for these objects.
With the small size, they melt into the object itself and thereby ruining the spectator experience.
Should have been at least twice the size, or even thrice.

Adding a brass handle would have helped to visually separate the display from the object.

If liked to have seen the object mounted inside a gyroscope type mount so it can be spun in any direction.

Actually , I love that idea with the brass ring and the little brass cups I'm only thirteen minutes into the video but I'm surprised.
He's not using some type of rubber.Them or like suction cup Of some kind In the suction cups Or tighten the cups Against the Glass and then putting a tiny little tack So the pin doesn't loosen or make the cups more like Claws like an eagle claw Or.
Something lol And then put the whole ring into another ring, so you can spin it around to See the different angles LO.L .... idk im High right 😂

I love the idea of the first mount with the brass rings and I have the image of sort of an Armillary Sphere with several points of contact to hold it. I think it'd be an interesting 1. viewing experience of the strange object, but also 2. giving sort of an homage to ancient math and sciences. The triangular symmetry reminds me a lot of a Celtic Knot so not only is it a stunningly beautiful object in all ways but it has an artistic layer with so many dimensions. I feel like the cloche's reflections detract a bit from the glass of the object itself and distracts a bit. Having it suspended would just add to the magic of it which gets unwrapped even more when the significance of it is fully explained.
All this being said, I still don't get what it is but it's pretty!
