To be fair they're right about Italian food, but other than that, mexican food, and Chinese food, I'd say British food culture is probably batter.

Our Italian and greek food is made by actual Italians and greeks. Im certain this lot had a fucking dominos and said its Italian because its pizza 😂

So most food places in America are not great, but if they mean authentic places then there are more in America just due to how many people of that background in the country

The Uk as a whole gets bad rep for food but most people don’t go out of their way to actually look. Eating Maccies or any other chain any real food, go to a country pub find an independent place and you will find amazing food. The Chinese/italian/greek/Indian food to name a few are amazing. You just need to look for the right places.

This makes me very frustrated and I can’t speak for all the uk, but I would say that London food is better than food in America, as London has everything and it’s is mostly delicious and authentic, and when people think British food they think brown slop, but in London I think you can get the best food from different countries when not in those countries, like I would argue that the 2nd best Indian food in the world is from London, or the second best Italian food is from London

My first visit to Leeds this year was shorter and I stayed in a hotel. I did not like the take out much. Some pubs had amazing food though.
This trip was 3 months and I stayed in an airbnb and cooked. I was pleasantly surprised by the cheeses, baked goods, dairy and the chicken and pork. I couldn't find a good cut of beef though.
I discovered that a lot of things I couldn't find was because of the preservatives we allow in the US.
I also missed getting fresh veggies at my local farmstands, knowing they were picked the same day.
Where I was, there was a large Jamaican and West Indian population and the jerk chicken and pork was soooo good. And the little convenience store carried some cool stuff I had never seen!

food at local restaurants are actually made by Greek or Italian people so I don't know what chessy sugared versions they've had jn America but that's probably why they're hooked on it lol

Nah that's absolute bs, these cuisines are meant to be made with high quality ingredients and are usually very minimal in seasoning because they rely heavily on the quality of ingredients to carry the dishes. As someone who's been to both countries, Italy and Greece, this is what I noted on their food but it's also widely known and you don't have to visit to know this about their cuisine. Based on this description, I'd say the UK has better versions of this cuisine, American cuisine is usually very low quality ingredients with a shitton of seasonings to make it taste good. These ppl tasted American Italian/Greek food and thought that's what it's supposed to taste like and have the nerve to say it's more authentic. 🙄

food in the US is rotten. Lived there for years and it’s absolutely insane how bad their food is. The UK isn’t a lot better but you can at least find a lot more decent places to buy good produce. The food is fresher and there’s more readily available fresh produce that hasn’t been chemically enhanced.

They're trippin, bet they only went to like Bella Italia or some shit. Like most of our actual independent restaurants are that persons actual ethnicity. Like our Italian restaurants are staffed by Italians...because we are like a 2 hour flight away from Italy.

Nah British food is better and it isn't 85 degrees it like 25 degrees mate and there are no plugs in the bathroom because it's safer to not have any

American version of Italian food is only good at the higher end and so this makes me question their budget in the UK as the same issue is true in London. The UK is really great at Indian and Chinese cuisine, though. It’s obviously not the same as you will find in the original countries of origin anymore, but it’s probably the best example of that type of food you will find in the west. It’s the UK’s national dish.
