Annakin was never able to defeat Obi-Wan in a lightsabre duel. I think it was that fact that really got under annakin's skin.

Fun fact, whilst preparations were made to start these scenes, George saw that the weather forecasts predicted rain. But since that planet's lava was so hot, the rain vaporized mid air, so production could go on without troubles. They do had to film this at night each time because Hayden himself even stated that it was too hot to do these fight scenes during the day.

I think they should try remastering this scene with a new CGI background. I always felt the early-2000s CGI was too obviously fake to match with the actors who absolutely nailed the choreography.

Remember kids, this was not accelerated at all.

Sad and tragic to see Obi Won Kenobi fight against his own Padawan. Anakin Skywalker was seduced to the dark side by Papatine, becoming Darth Vader, and his anger and lust for power was his downfall. And the extinction of the Jedi was complete and the Emipire made its debut. Obi won: "YOU WERE THE CHOSSEN ONE"! "YOU WERE DESTINED TO DESTROY THE SITH NOT JOIN THEM"! "BRING BALANCE TO THE FORCE"!!! "NOT LEAVE IT IN DARKNESS"!!! Anakin was Obi won's greatest failure and disappointment.

I love the prequels. They brought awesome things too, ESPECIALLY the light sabre fights. These two actors did rad!

People trying so hard to make the jedi seem like the sith based off a true statement about sith is telling of the IQ levels.

This is by far the most epic part of the prequel trilogy.

The soundtack adds so much to the dialogue

The prequels were stronger movies than the sequels, it really brought the viewer into the Star Wars universe the way George always envisioned it. The world could’ve done without Ep 1-3 but it’s a good thing they were made to show how truly tragic the character of Anakin/Vader was.

Hayden putting work in. This was such an intense performance. He was awesome at the "damn breaking" and going full Vader mode. Obi-Wan is on the receiving end of this fight pretty much from the word "go". Vader was ferocious.

This movie will never get old. Just a masterpiece, my only flaw with this movie is that the clones switch up so quick, but now that ive seen clone wars and seen they have inhibitor chips in their brains it makes this movie perfect

I listened to someone criticize the Prequel fights for the characters attacking each other’s lightsabers instead of their opponents body. If you watch this at .25 speed, that’s completely wrong. Nearly every strike is a body strike that has perfect synchronicity with the defender, because Anakin and Obi-Wan are like brothers. This is the peak of lightsaber combat.

Anikin was a jerk to obi and his girlfriend

The best thing about Hayden Christianson‘s acting is that you can even tell that some of the lines Anakin is saying he doesn’t believe people called that poor acting it wasn’t. It was Hayden knowing that Anikan knew what he was saying was bullshit.

The saddest thing. Even as a full blown Sith(before the suit)and only reason he fought Obi-Wan was because he loved Padme. But it was Anakin’s fault. He never told Obi-Wan his dreams. And it was Kenobi’s fault, why didn’t he say to Anakin think of your children. Do you want their father to be on the Dark Side

Love this scene, but MAN Hayden can't act to save his life

Since 2005, I have been telling people Episode III is the apex of Star Wars. After many years of mockery, nice too see fans coming back to their senses. And, after so much hate, finally accepting Hayden Christensen in the Star Wars fanbase was LONG OVERDUE! Also 2005 was the best year to be a SW fan: Episode III, Empire at War, Republic Commando, Battlefront... RIP Star Wars (1977-2012) - everything pre-Disney is canon to me!
