I am not an American I am a Canadian with numerous cousins living in the USA. I am pro-Palestinian and am appalled by the stand the West particularly the US and Britain have taken in regards to the genocide in Gaza. I write now after the election is over and Trump has once again won the presidency. There may have been a faint hope Harris would have changed in relation to Palestine but there is no doubt Trump could be worse and may enter a hot war with Iran. In Michigan, the Muslims voted in their areas for Stein or stayed home and I understand their stance. But the Democrats are painting this as a betrayal in what was a vital swing state. If I were a Muslim in the US I would be packing my bags and leaving given what has happened and the potential fallout given the situation in the Middle East.

One of the reasons why the west may not sympathize with the Muslim woes is that while the Muslims mostly take stand on the basis of religious differences but rarely on the basis of universal principles. An example is the recent Israel-Gaza conflict. The Muslim leadership all over the world is too eager to label the Gaza conflict as genocide but ignores the Iraq-Iran war, the Arab spring and the Assad repression on the Syrian population that led to much higher causalities, as if it is an "internal matter'.
