This video is interesting, but I believe overly optimistic. For my part, I cannot see an end to the war in Ukraine in 2025 barring something wildly unforseen. Still, I wonder if Putin's standing in the Russian Federation might be slowly eroding. In the Russian Federation they accept many things but never weakness. If the reports of relying in Iranian, North Korean and Chinese weapons and perhaps even personnel to sustain the war are true, Putin is proving on the world stage that he is dependant on other powers to achieve his foreign policy objectives and cannot fight without foreign aid. Putin wanted to show the world that the bad boy has arrived, is kicking ass and taking names. Whether you see him as succeeding or losing in Ukraine after 2.5 + years of special military operation, one can hardly dispute that he has projected the opposite image and emboldened the countries he plans to conquer. Will somebody in the RF finally say "enough" and take him out? And if so, what follows?

Ukraine is FINISHED as a functioning country, too many people have left with no desire to return. A fatal brain drain in a country that was already under endemic corruption and low birth rate before Russia's invasion. It will grind on until, finally, some piecemeal agreement is made, Russia takes the disputed territories where the GDP is and Blackrock/Vanguard carve up what's left.

This video is the standard click bait title - yes russia has lost a lot of troops and a huge amount of old soviet equipment.
Thing is they are slowly slowly ( oh so slowly) nibbling away in the Donbas. They lose huge numbers of men in the process and will eventually cripple their whole economy and society. This however is not the same as losing the entire war.
The west is pussy footing around with sending old kit. F16s when we have much newer planes, also tons of old ammo and other vehicles and tanks ( the USA even stripped the decent tech out of the tanks they sent over). It all looks like it’s just we are dribbling a bit of aid but we are not in it properly. To defeat pukin we need to be all in. That’s ALL in- send troops, send planes send everything. The only thing pukin understands is strength. Just sending 6 planes isn’t going to do anything - we should and 3000 with pilots. 6000 tanks with crews. Plus send Ukraine whatever icbms it needs with nukes as warheads.
Then pukin will think that the west is serious.
Anything else is just playing a game

I think that if everything goes south and it has to happen soon, Kremlin might get some sort of Pyrrhic victory, but that requires Ukrainians lose morale dramatically. Best case scenario is Putin comes back to sanity and withdraws all forces from Ukraine - which is far less likely. More realistic is Ukraine victory when Russia collapses to civil war and fronts collapse gradually. But that's not good either, unless we get really lucky. Perhaps the most likely scenario is some sort of indecisive end, which would mean Russia occupies the 2014 gains and bit more and both sides focus on rearming themselves. Unfortunately this might lead to second round later on, because Ukraine wouldn't be accepted into NATO before the enemy is ready.

And meanwhile China must be having mixed feelings. Yes, West is busy with this war, but rearming heavily. Their hopes were in a quick but costly victory, but what they got was a grinding nightmare that isn't beneficial to any country. It's just dragging progress down on economic (and thus welfare), scientific and humanitarian fields. Even worse, China really can't let Russia lose this dramatically, by cutting trade and cooperation, because their only hope is to exhaust West and get us tired. Sad. We're facing a decade of wars. (I bet there'll be more.)

Russia failed to defeat Ukraine with its best troops and equipment before Ukraine had received any help from other countries so what makes people think that Russia can defeat Ukraine with untrained conscripts and convicts using equipment that is over 50 years old and in short supply while Ukraine has troops that have been trained by the elite forces of other countries and has received the most advanced weapons available.
Ukraine itself has developed during the war some of the most advanced drones and has used cheap off the shelf drones to destroy the most advanced weapon system Russia had.
Ukraine has destroyed over half of the black Sea fleet without having a navy and destroyed more than double the tanks, armoured vehicles and aircraft that Ukraine has had during the entire war.
Just this year, Russia has been losing an average of 1500 troops, 10 tanks, 30 armoured vehicles and 50 artillery pieces every day.
