Can someone tell me why I don't get to see upfront fares on uber so I can make an informed decision to take the ride?

New uber app update can detect if your device has been compromised or not.

I knew about the address thing, but they changed it up LOL! Also, when I turned off voice navigation, this male pax freaked out, he thought I was taking him somewhere else. He tried to open the door of the car to get out while the car was in motion. I told him he CANNOT do that. I informed him I was going to short cut that he's probably not as familiar with, but I can pull over somewhere well lit for you to reorder your ride or you can sit quietly. He sat quietly, then I turned the sound of the GPS back on. Once we were on the highway, he calmed down when he started seeing the stores and feeling more comfortable. He gave a tip in the app of $2, but at least he gave a supportive amount. Freaked me out when he started yanking at the door - thank goodness my doors cannot unlock unless I unlock them.

Hello. I've learned so much from your videos. I'm a brand new driver. But can you explain why I can NOT see the fare for the ride before I accept it on my screen? I don't even see the entire trip destination from pick up to final destination. I find myself just accepting rides I would have normally declined. Please help

Another way to stop new requests is to tap the little coffee cup icon on the map.

To be fair to riders i also stop requests after accepting a ride. Riders shouldn't have to wait for you to drop off the first ride then go to them. That can be a long (too long) a wait for them they could be searching other options. They usually get mad and end up canceling or not being there. Then you might say well too bad i will just wait, cancel when told and take their money. Would you want to be treated like that? Uber loses business doing that practice. So i do what Uber should be doing imo.

My tip is to turn off UberX and Comfort rides, but have Uber XL ON. there are fewer requests, but I get a lot of those after I have picked up and driving current. On Lyft I do only XL rides ( because there is virtually no surges outside of an occasional $1 or $1.25.) I average $32+ per hour this way and over $1 per mile for ALL miles and I live about 20 miles from my driving area. I also always turn the apps on as soon as I get in the car. This way I get long pick up pay.

There’s a major flaw in stopping your incoming Uber requests mid ride: it ends your filtered area preference which only lasts for 2 hours anyway and you only get two of these a day as a Platinum driver in my market - Louisiana

They simply need a “I need to be done by X “ feature which will then not throw you any long rides if you’re short on time

Two things to add, first, in my market a few weeks ago they changed the location of how to thank a passenger for a tip. Took me couple days to find it but it is still there but smaller in the finished rides info screen so you have to look harder. Second, just learned this useful tip from another video that if you do not want a rider to make adjustments to their ride while you are in route like adding stops definitely use the "stop requests" button and it will not only stop new ride requests from coming in but also not allow the current rider to make new requests such as adding stops or changing the destination. If the rider attempts to do so and complains that they are not able to make changes just play dumb as to why they cannot do so......lol

@wayne3302264 - 01.03.2024 03:08

Unless you are ok with the address change never let the pax know that the driver can change it. Just play dumb. I always turn off "ride requests" after picking up a rider to stop them from making any changes to the ride because i do not like surprises to the original ride that I agreed to take. "Stop New Requests" prevents the rider from making changes of any kind to their ride. If they then want out early so be it.

Not to be ungrateful, but I almost wish - when I get $1 tips, that I could reject the tip and send a note, "no thanks, mate, but I think you need the money more than I do."

Uber has updated the app. You can no longer pull down upper menue to add your destination while driving. You probably need to change other things on here that you've mentioned that no longer apply. so you might want to update this video or delete it

How are you doing? RSD got a very nice channel. I’m a new driver and I was wondering call you personally figure out if a trip is worth your time when I do it by the hours involved it seems like I don’t make that much when I figure gas consumption, it seems like that’s not that good as well but when I figure dollars per mile, usually I like a dollar a mile at least it seems to work out. OK I was just wondering what you personally do to determine if a trip is worth your time or not and if you could give me any advice, I’m a new driver. Any help would be greatly appreciated and keep up the good work on your channel. Thank you.

Only feature that matters is seeing what you Uber drivers rank customers. I’ve tipped $40 on $60 rides. I never tip less than 20% and I immediately give a 5 star rating when i leave the car. So explain to me how i have a 4.98 rating?? I want to know what driver gave that to me bc i have my AirPods in the entire time have gone out of my way—-out of my way to even find you drivers at airports n drivers can’t even pop the trunk to put luggage in their car. Adding stops?? What you r talking about is unheard of….pay more for comfort rides n get a Nissan Altima. Cry me a river/. You guys are the dirtballs. Only option i use is electric bc at least i know im getting a tesla not some car that smells like cigs n is smaller than sh*t

Thank you for the tips! Since they removed the coffee break icon i have no idea how stop request while i have passenger. I really appreciate it since uber customer support didn't know what to do. Also destination editing and muting the navigation guidance will be very helpful!

Ответить

Rather than pressing the button that stops new requests when you are constantly receiving them, just click the coffee icon in the lower right corner of the screen to pause the new requests. By doing this, you collect any surges that you ride through before during and after your trips with passengers! It’s also a great way to pick up a surge and drive to a new area before unpausing the app and give rides at your new location

The only passenger I don't send thank you to are people who tip $1. I mean, come on!!!! That's jist insulting and unnecessary. Keep your cheap little $1 tip. I have a 5 star rating & I give ammenities like water to airport passengers, relaxing drone footage of Hawaii cast onto a tablet that I have attached to the back of the the passenger front seat & very chill Lo-Fi music. I always get rave reviews about my service. I talk when they are open to talking and I chill and offer a quiet relaxing environment when I know they need space. $1 tip ia just an insult
