Shopify vs Etsy Full Comparison - Print On Demand Store

I was worried that Shopify does not help you collect sales tax. Etsy does, but even then it is complicated. There are 5 states that don't have an arrangement with Etsy to collect the tax. I am not sure if the sales tax is due on a few sales to a state, or only when one has a huge amount of sales in that state to establish a nexus. If a customer living in other countries orders, then I want a platform that knows how to pay the VAT taxes that are required so I don't get in trouble. I have an online store for my products that uses our own ordering system, and have been selling this way since 1996, but now I want to try some POD products with Printify, and they say I need a store like Etsy, Shopify, or eBay. What do you think of eBay? I currently only collect sales tax for sales in NC where I live.

Good point about starting on POD then switching to a monthly fee store. Dunno why I didn't think about it.

You didn't mention the Etsy advantage of being a trusted website where customers are more likely to buy because of that.
Plus Shopify may require a good social media account which few people have.

Since shopify reveals my home address and I have to apply and setup sales tax ..
Sorry even if etsy costs a little bit more its worth it on that alone!

I tried doing Etsy and it had messed up my first order and then forced me to go on a break which was really weird
