Nice to see that you are promoting new country of East Timor, because they need tourist for their economy. Stay safe and God bless.
ОтветитьTraveling wihtout a VISA card ? that is like losing a wallet. Main reason ausssie aid the East Timor is that huge Gas Reserve deposit -well dictator Suharto did not want to give up either. So the Gas Reserve will hopefully make the country rich this decade like Brunei so the E Timor govt in no rush to pursue tourism.
Ответитьlol reminds me of trying to use my atm card in Oklahoma in the 80s. 😂
ОтветитьThe ex-colony where a big chunk of people did not want independence - they knew they will be invaded and annexed by indonesia.

ОтветитьThey didn't speak a lot of Portuguese during Portuguese rule when you compare the Philippines in Spanish. Spanish was much more pervasive in the Philippines. Now, they're trying to push Portuguese more and more there in East Timor.
ОтветитьI just watched the recent Pope Francis mass in Dili which 3/4 of Timor Leste's population attended. Whilst many readings were in Tetum, the formalities of mass and Bible readings were all in European Portuguese. So I assume most of the country understand Portuguese even if they don't speak it.
ОтветитьI appreciate your language skills and your nerve to travel in places a lot of people would not feel comfortable. I also share your views about Bali and over-tourism. But dude, after all your travels you don't have a Visa card? You should know better.
ОтветитьCongratulations, your indonesian language is so great...
Thank you for visiting my country...
Just to say, in East Timor the population can speak 3 languages Indonesian, Portuguese and Tetum. There are even speakers there who speak English very well

ОтветитьThe United States recognized Timor-Leste, then known as East Timor, on May 20, 2002, when it achieved formal independence. Before this time, the region had been a Portuguese colony up until 1975 and was under Indonesian sovereignty from 1976 to 1999.
