I'm on a 1 Trillion kilometer journey, and yet I'm still stuck right here going nowhere. Thanks, Paul! You've got me feeling better about life, the universe, and everything!
😉
Hi
ОтветитьMr. Stutter, you are an unique & special human being, thankyou
ОтветитьAh yes, the weave and wave motion! wondered dideye when someone would mention the 6th & 7th motion? Not too say it wasn't already known! {\}
ОтветитьFreaky Spooky Weavy Wavey... 🌎🌍🌏
ОтветитьOne quite unhelpful thing all of you science popularizers do is length measures in space. Kilometers and miles are quite useless when describing distances in space. Even the moon is too far for them to mean anything. Light seconds, minutes, hours, etc. are much more descriptive.

Okay, I'll ask. What's the story with Triangulum?
ОтветитьFreakin awesome video Paul!
ОтветитьI always wondered how fast we actually move through the universe and how close or far away we are from light speed. You covered all questions and doubts that I had about this topic very clearly. Thank you so much for making this video!
ОтветитьA sort of unknown as the Earth is going around the Sun, the Sun around the Galactic Core, the Milky Way might be going around something and last but not least if there's a Multiverse what is the Universe going around?
ОтветитьWhat the... ? I was just thinking about this after watching Prof. Brian Cox on a recent tv show. Thanks.
ОтветитьWe are all certainly well traveled!
ОтветитьAwesome!!!
Thank you so very much
And we don't even get jetlag. Although for the first hour or two after I get up in the morning my bodies check engine light is on. It requires several applications of my coffee to silence all the alarms. Coffee that won the engine block de-greaser contest three years in a row.
ОтветитьThe expansion of space itself with respect to what?
ОтветитьIf all matter was deleted from the universe except for earth, but we maintained our current trajectory, it seems like we would cease to move
ОтветитьThat was a beautiful episode Paul. Not sure how many miles we have traveled but great job i love your shows thank you.
ОтветитьThe section on absolute reference frames was exactly what I was wondering, thanks for addressing it in depth!
ОтветитьHugh, 🤷🏻♂️ I’m stuck in traffic, seemingly going nowhere. This great explanation isn’t helping my state of mind at all 😂
ОтветитьSuper interesting video thanks 😊
Ответитьthis is an arbitrary question, since velocity is a RELATIVE property. It's funny how people just ignore this because all the equations have this term hidden. when we say velocity or distance there is a hidden reference point. (you can get into an "absolute space" argument but its pretty clear imo that there is not an absolute space). So no we don't travel that far, we travel that far IN REFERENCE TO xyz. The earth is the usual reference point but you are mearly changing that to say we moved further, nonsensical.
ОтветитьWell done! Slight corrections: For the orbit around the sun, about a billion km/yr is correct. However, the shortcut “pi million” seconds in a year is incorrect. There are about pi*(ten million) seconds in a year.
ОтветитьAfter all we are the true aliens
Ответитьis time travel to past future really possible i want to do i am form India please help me out
ОтветитьI'm just going along for the ride.
ОтветитьCan you do an episode on what we know about the other galaxies in our local group? Thank you in advance Dr PMS
ОтветитьMiles please
ОтветитьAbsolutely incredible! I can see how much effort you put into this! 👏
