I don‘t fully agree with PB. I think that DT uses tariffs to force companies to relocate to the US, creating jobs inthe US.

When you mention Greenland to me, I imagine Baffin Bay and then I imagine Oil and Gas exploration companies, k. I then imagine the single American oil and gas company (Conoco Philips) that was given exploration rights (by Denmark) in that region versus the rights given by Denmark (because of protectorship of Greenland) to companies like British Petroleum, Shell, etc etc etc.. This is just one example. Now maybe, media didn't read the signs in that particular region, and were expected to do some research as to what was going on in that vicinity to make Greenland look so profitable?? Again I'm guessing on this one.

Tariffs for Dummies.
The importer pays the country it imports into the tariff. If Anheuser-Busch buys aluminum for $100 from Canada Anheuser-Busch pays $25 to the US government. So, either the Canadian seller has to reduce the price or Anheuser-Busch has to raise the price of beer. But it makes no sense for the seller to lower the price unless his profit margin is higher than the tariff which is highly unlikely. No company on earth is going to sell below costs. Anheuser-Busch might take the loss since the aluminum is only a part of the end product but it will cut their margin. Most likely they raise their price to cover the costs of the tariff which makes the consumer pay the tariff to the US government. And what about a product entirely made out of aluminum like aluminum-siding?
It all boils down to the consumer - US citizens - paying the tariff to the US government and sales taxes to the states. Sounds like a form of indirect taxation to me.

Tariff will be passed onto the consumers. One Google search, they would have known that this would not be good for them.
