Ответить"Mick Aston was a great British eccentric; an atheist whose life's work was medieval monasticism, an anarchist who for many decades loyally fulfilled the labyrinthine requirements of his university and British television, and a grumpy old curmudgeon with the kindest of hearts and a great capacity for friendship ... His mission was sharing his passion for archaeology with ordinary people rather than keeping its secrets locked away behind the walls of Britain's universities."
— Tony Robinson, 2013
He was a vegetarian and a naturist.
He liked to live a private, hermit-like life, and once commented that "For some of the time I feel I could be a monk" but that he "couldn't cope with the celibacy."
He later entered into a relationship with landscape historian Teresa Hall, who survived him on his death"
Aston had a son, James, and a stepdaughter, Kathryn, both children of his former partner Carinne Allinson, from whom he separated in 1998.
I say hes Greatly missed on this show.
ah, the ghosts quietly looking over shoulders around the vehicle hood meeting
ОтветитьThe presenter doesn't have the voice or manner for this work.
ОтветитьKinda strange how backward we are compared to then considering how far in the future we are now and the time we've had to advance technology, yes we have things now but how much advancement have we lost due to pure thugness and self greed.
ОтветитьI'm just thinking, with all the "rituals", like swords being bend in the water, or this horses head, they did not have anybody come by to collect the trash. In many cases I think it is just how they got rid of trash. Swords out of the way of smaller children, and a horses head, where else are you going to put that other then under ground? Maybe I am not as romantic... What if the villa was a ludus? And where the lesser value coins were found, was where the gladiators were. Just thinking out loud, since I keep thinking it was a ludus somewhere in time. All the stuff like armour and such may have been removed later, when that area lost it's purpose.. As for the grain, a big house like that needs a lot of grain to feed it's people for a year..
ОтветитьI love the old music, Tony and Phil wish they were still on the show, they spiced it up as much as the finds!!👍👍
ОтветитьStone, lead lined coffin has me screaming vampire 🧛♀️ 😂
ОтветитьAs always fascinating, and informative, love history and finding out new buildings and places. 👍👍👍😁😁😁😁
ОтветитьThis presenter is a flat as a pancake devoid of personality and does not fill you with enthusiasm its like he is just reading a script
ОтветитьI love this stuff, but does it get written up properly?
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьI keep hoping that on one of these new episodes that they go to a pub shot and Phil will be there waiting for them. Having Tony there would be great too.
ОтветитьYeg bring back Phil and tony for one episode 😊😊
ОтветитьWhat kind of software are they using to model?
ОтветитьDr. Gus congratulations, your are there not to be Tony, but to be yourself Dr. Gus.
ОтветитьWhy not dig in the rooms if you are trying to find the use of the room
ОтветитьWatch this guy is like watching paint dry.
ОтветитьThat self-imposed 3 day time limit I have always found false and really annoying..Who's idea was it?
ОтветитьDecades ago, Husband I were walling in a new shower in the house we owned then, and there was this odd small space that seemed to have no practical use. I wanted to put a sign in there for future owners, "This space intentionally left blank." He didn't like that. I still should have done it.
ОтветитьJust watched again. Can't wait to see the sarcophagus dig.
ОтветитьMove on folk's it's history! Stiĺl good.
ОтветитьI loved the archaeology. But the three day shtick is a bit thin.
ОтветитьI miss the voices of Time Team so I listen during competing my other projects. I listened to every episode when you were on Telly and I could not be happier you are now being funded by the viewers who love you. You were my comfort and education during years made difficult for me by others. Your voices connect to my inner peace in ways you might never suspect. I thank God for you all. And its quite alright to include clips from previous digs, maybe out takes, if you have them. we just love Time Team. Hugs. Live long and prosper.
ОтветитьI really really happy how this has turned out. The dig, the new host and team and how they've anchored the villa into the environment that now holds a castle. Beautifully done!❤
ОтветитьOo the fook is that guy?!
ОтветитьYea they really got shoes to fill.
ОтветитьGod this is soooooo boring. Without Tony. Miss his antics so much.
ОтветитьHmmmm.....subtle evidence fractured into pieces. I keep seeing evidence that England and the throne are lapsing into perhaps the dangers of what the Maga movement is trying to do to us. I'm watching parliament as well. I'm watching the backlash from citizens of the UK.
Sorry, I know this may be a stretch for some, but struggles begin quietly.
the new guy is a good presenter, but tony has a knack for keeping you really interested, I miss the original crew , but maybe in time things will fall in place they are all great at what they do , at least some are still here , nothing like British history its very interesting. Fr Canada 🇨🇦
ОтветитьWhere's Tony?!
ОтветитьBinge watching here in Arizona.
Wealth never graced my life, as if it had, i would be so busy trying to bring back history in bold fashion, to make people want to learn all over again.
I am giddy and amazed, and a bit jealous I am unable to hold such artifacts, and dream what their owners saw and felt.
I would love to relive such times, if only in my mind.
Such grand fantasy.
You bring out the desire to touch that which can only be thought about, at least for me.
I am in awe....THANK YOU!
Another fantastic show!
The U.S is a child compared to this area, and I am in awe of the history that screams at those willing to hear the call.
I wojld love to be there, listening to the history speak to me. I am listening!
Okay y'all know the time team rules. every time somebody says ritual you have to drink 🤣
ОтветитьI think Natalie and Gus co-presenting the show was a good choice. You all kind of missing the point of the casting to only speak of Gus as Tony's replacement. Natalie brings that "Tony-energy" to the show while Gus is a more "scholarly" addition.
To make it better I think Natalie should do more of the narration work alongside Gus. They're still trying to find that sweet spot.
well well. my first visit without tony robinson, phil harding, and the gang. and, being an old-fashioned gal, i miss 'em. nothing personal gus, and i do wish you the best, but where's blackadder when we need him. i also understand your need to up your marketing game and get finances honed and approve, but, well.... catch you later. i'm going to digging band of brothers.
ОтветитьAmazing what you can see when you peer into the soil. Brilliant.
ОтветитьRegarding finding burnt grains..In Oklahoma we burn off the fields in the spring to crack seeds and bring up new sprouts. ?
ОтветитьWhat's happened to Phil?
ОтветитьI can imagine the pressure to find something good since it’s Patreon funded and not that BBC money. No site just full of rocks and dirt 😂 Love this and supporting as a Patreon!
ОтветитьWhere is the Lady from the Sarcophagus? Were her bones preserved in a museum, etc.? Thank you for putting the 2021 digs into this Feature Length format. I have viewed all of the Time Team episodes many times over. Helen Geek has had that cheerful smile in each episode she appears in! Naomi, you rock!!
Ответитьi love that they absolutely did dedicate a good bit of focused attention on the lady in the grave later on. everything about this site is magnificent and literally has been for thousands of years LOL
ОтветитьHorses are sacred to Neptune. I wonder if that's a connection between the horse head and the water of the bathhouse?
ОтветитьAmazing work, amazing presentation. Time Team does it again! I learned so much!
