BEING A CHURCH THAT’S ALWAYS ON TARGET
MAKING DISCIPLES WHO LOVE GOD

TODAY'S PASSAGE:
Mark 12:28-30 ESV... 28 And one of the scribes came up and heard them disputing with one another, and seeing that he answered them well, asked him, "Which commandment is the most important of all?" 29 Jesus answered, "The most important is, 'Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'

LOVE A WORTHY GOD
1. God is a God you can trust. Psalm 18:1-2; 20-29; Genesis 8:20-22
2. God is a God who understands us. Matthew 1:23
3. God is a God who first loved us enough to save us. 1 John 4:19; John 3:16; Titus 3:4-7

LOVE WITH YOUR WHOLE BEING
1. Your heart and mind are your ideas and decisions. Deuteronomy 6:4-5
2. Your soul is your inner or spiritual self. Psalm 25:1; Leviticus 11:44-45; 16:29; Ecclesiastes 7:9
3. Your strength is your inner resolve or physical ability. Deuteronomy 31:6; Joshua 1:6; Psalm 27:14

LOVING GOD TRANSFORMS US
1. Our ability to love is colored by our experiences - 5 love languages.
2. God's love and us loving God transforms us for the better. Romans 12:2; 2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Peter 1:3-4
3. Trust God's will in your life.

LOVING GOD RESULTS IN ACTION
1. Love is more than a feeling, it includes action. Psalm 18:3, 6; 51:1-2
2. Loving God is both a result of salvation AND a spiritual discipline we practice. Romans 1:21; Matthew 15:19; Deuteronomy 6:4-8; Mark 12:28-30
3. Loving God means being obedient! John 3:36; 14:15; Psalm 18:21-23; Hebrews 5:9; 1 John 5:3-5
