Why do we use a (Cl — Cl) “—“ notation for covalent bonds but not a notation for ionic bonds? Like instead of NaCl it’d be: (Na+-Cl)?

Would using square brackets instead of the curved ones be considered as a mistake on the igcse 0620 chem exam??

Is another reason why a polymers boiling/melting point is higher than that oof simple molecular forces to do with the size of those Inter molecular forces? (as well as how many imf there are )
