Historic tramway in Amsterdam

Historic electric tramway (Electrische Museumtramlijn Amsterdam) near Amsterdamse Bos

The museum tramway opened it's first public season in 1975. Back then, the line extende only as far as the Ringroa A10, about 1,5 kilometres long.

During the following years, the organiation grew and the line was gradually expanded, making use of a disbandoned former railwayline. The line has now it's final destination (Bovenkerk village) and full length, a good 7 kilometres and that compares to an avarage tramline in the city of Amsterdam.

Our trams travel over the former Haarlemmermeer railwayline along the edge of the Amsterdam Forest, the largest recreational area in Amsterdam (and Amstelveen too). Several tramstop bring you right to the forrest, where several attractions can be visited by foot.

Our collection:

We have trams from different European cities, such as: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Groningen, Utrecht, Vienna and Prague. They were built between approximately 1910 and 1960.
