African Youth In Agriculture Conference 2021

Theme: “Youth In Agriculture: Panacea To Africa’s Development Challenges.”

Speaking at the “You Employment in Agriculture As a Solid Solution to Ending Hunger and Poverty in Africa” held in Kigali, Rwanda 20-21 August 2018, Dr. Tamara Happyface Kaunda recommended that Agriculture should be seen as the oxygen of the African Economy and not the backbone as lack of oxygen would mean death just like without a robust interest, investment and development in agriculture, Africa would never be able to develop.

Contributing to the discussion “What are the top 5 challenges Africa is facing today” Tarik Oguz, Tralac Research Advisor, identified Agricultural Development (food security) as number one. He added that agricultural development among others is one of the most important issues that we need to work collectively on and in a proactive manner to achieve inclusive growth, social and economic development.

Kiryowa Abdul holds a Diploma in Agro-Business Management from the Bukalasa Agriculture College, Uganda. He works with Farm Factory, Uganda – an agro-feeds production company based in Kampala Uganda. He is a dedicated farming enthusiast and has pioneered kitchen or backyard garden and poultry business among his peers.

He would be speaking on the topic: “Youth Involvement In Agriculture”
