Cohen's version means so much to me. Hearing that as an adolescent there was just never anything like it before or after. I have to say this version is an extension of that feeling again after all these years.. It is brilliant. Great version.

I was listening to the original Leonard Cohen version this morning and was like I’ve heard this song before but sung by a woman. I some how forgot about I’ll Be Gone In The Dark which was such a haunting book and documentary.

This is rather weak imitation, compared to the original. The voice lacks originality, it has no real dedication. It's just a "remake" that doesn't add anything of value.

Mann… Cohen… makes sense. Cohen is genius with many words. Mann is cutting with few words. Makes sense. Feels good in the bones.

I really like this version as well as the original by Leonard Cohen which is amazing. That being said there is another cover of this I really liked from the tv show Black Sails done by Nick Cave that's really great too. The violin in it is awesome but the pain in his voice is just raw and fits the song so well.

Aimee After all of these years singing your song, I never knew you were American, I thought you were Swedish with a foreign accent. I loved your songs voices carry. I always thought you were European. ha ha. I have been singing your song for over 20 years. I raised my kids on it. I love this song; one of my favorites in the world.

I can't get over how haunting, and even resentful this song feels. I can't think of many songs like this.

Maybe the song that the Shaekspearian Richard the third would have sung to the world. Wonderfull female interpretation.
