There is a minefield of information and conjecture with what to buy for a beach rod. I'm looking to start but I don't want to buy the wrong one and this video dispelled most of what I've heard or read. It makes the most sense to me and for that, thank you.
ОтветитьJust Trying to start surf fishing and that info was really good !! Also if possible to know other than custom-made rods what is the reels and rods on the market that you Recommend two pair , wish you more fish to catch👍
ОтветитьTyler, This is an awesome vid. I fish Melbourne, Melbourne beach all the time.
ОтветитьGreat video. I bought a Ocean Master 12' surf casting rod rated for 6oz/12oz (h4) with a Daiwa Sealine X40SHA reel in a pawn shop in Ohio. I took it to Oak Island NC last year and surf fished for the first time. I was using a high/low rig with 3/0 hooks and 3 oz/4 oz weight. I could not cast this setup more than 30/35 yards. I thought it should cast further than that. Do I need more weight to put it out there and try for bigger fish? While I was in North Carolina I was given a Ocean City 9' med-heavy rod, can't find any information on it, and I put a Penn 750SS on it. I think it will be a lot better for the tackle I was using on the other rod/reel. I am going back in October and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
ОтветитьHi,
I have a technical question about surf spinning fishing. If i buy this gear ‘ SW800 Hg ‘ , what mark or kind of rod should i get?
I wanted to buy an okuma 13 ft 4 inch SST M and some told me that this rod is too soft for this gear.
What is the parm to look for, when buying a rod, to know if the rod is soft or not.
I will be surf fishing in cuba, egypt, canada and mexico.
Thanks for your help.
Very helpful info I live in upstate ny so I’m use to river creek and pond fishing I have an ugly stick that’s 7 ft med heavy was wondering if I could use that for surf fishing as well? I go to ocmd for vacation each year so was wondering if this rod would do or if I should look for a new rod
ОтветитьThanks for this info. I throw lures with 7-8ft rods at the beach with great success, but there is always a fisherman walking up to me telling me to increase to 10ft+. Lately I have been doubting opting for something longer, hoping to cast past the breakers, but your comment around fatigue confirms it kind of for me... I'll stick to light and mobile for now🤙
Ответитьwhat reel is that
ОтветитьGreat video! And hello from all the way up here in Titusville!! lol. I fish out at KSC Cape Canaveral the most but also Cocoa Beach and up to NSB some too.
Anyways, I’ve been looking for a decent artificial lure casting rod. Was about to pull the trigger on a 9’ rod. You convinced me to go down to 8’. I think I’ll be plenty happy. Glad I found this video.
I am new into fishing, can i use a rod for both bait and lure fishing on the beach? Which length do u recomend, a 9' rod is ok? Just to be in the middle. What about the power of the rod? Should it be medium or medium-heavy?
Thanks a lot i am learning a lot with your channel.
Sad sad surf. Where is the rod to cast into nomans land?
