Cost 570m to make and 1b to salvage. For 6 years of usage.

I know this is a very insignificant part of the entire story, and I promise I’m a logical, educated, adult woman, but there is still no way in hell I would get on a cruise ship on Friday the 13th! I just would not be able to do it!

Now this is a cruise that should rightfully be sued! I’ve seen some that were absolute mishaps, and everyone on board tried to make the best of it! But I absolutely would sue the crap out of these people!

As a once married woman of a great lakes sailor…and an often time passenger on big ore carriers I would not just go back down into my cabin and wait for instructions upon a situation such as this….obvious list ect…’nope….id be in my survival suite or in this case…my life vest sitting on the rail folks….im not gonna get trapped inside that thing…no way…I have a big fear of drowning….

Amazing that the Italian people welcomed in those traumatized passengers with open arms. If this happened where I live (The US)...those people would be scrambling to find an Uber and a hotel room for the night...

I am so sick of people blaming the captain for leaving the ship! He wanted to protect himself and his mistress over the people he had taken into his care and trust as captain! He wanted to escape the hard work of having his crew look to him for moral courage and guidance!

It is still unbelievable for me that the sinking ship somehow stumbled back to the island and "beached" there, instead of just straight sinking in the sea. Supposedly, the ship was not under control, and it drifted back to the island.

As far as I know a captain is responsible for everyone on board until they leave the ship and leaving a ship while people are on board is considered a great disgraceful act and loosing you license is the least of the worries 16 years is too light of a punishment.

Seeing all the last names that matched makes me think that families died together. And that hurts my heart more than anything. To think that loss couldve been prevented or cut if they decided to abandon the ship instead of waiting several fucking hours and letting water get inside.

It has a right to be called "unsinkable" when you use it for naval target practice and have to practically destroy it before it actually capsizes.

Carnival Cruise offering the customers $13,000 (which included their cruise tickets) was hilarious as hell. Europeans and westerners are so funny to laugh at. Nobody raised a fuss or anything over it either.
