I frequently use the constrictor knot as an anchor knot when beginning a handle wrap. Also, before completely drawing slack from the knot, I put a stiff wire loop under the knot. That way, later, when finishing the wrap, the loop can be used to pull the working end under the knot and beneath the wrap. The result is a clean burying of a loose end. I prefer a buried end to a clipped and singed one. But that just a preference.
