ОтветитьExactly.
ОтветитьI use to listen to this song at white like n.c. when i was 13 i had a great child hood
ОтветитьI'm 14 and I always listen to Dr Hook - just because he's brilliant.
Ответитьwhen i was younger i always got embarrassed when my dad would play Dr hook. But now i think his music is Amazing. And takes me back to childhood memories.
ОтветитьHa Ha This is one of my all time favorite songs :)
ОтветитьEntered Cashbox Sept 27, 1975
ОтветитьI grew up on Dr Hook, and they're a really bizarre band. Bit like Chicago, they had sappy love songs aplenty, and then less clean-cut material like this. Love the vocal delivery on this one.
Ответить17 people are broke
Ответить17 people need to put a quarter in the jukebox.

ОтветитьHahaha good one uncle pat :-)
ОтветитьLove this song 😍
ОтветитьA good song
ОтветитьSomeone please do a polar opposite cover version, id love to hear it and relate so much better
ОтветитьEverytime I hear this song I both laugh and cry . Lol . At one time ,"other than being ugly ,and getting it ,when my rich uncle died, " . This song fit me to a T .
My life fell somewhere between a mix of this song, Joe Walsh's, Lifes been good to me, and Counting flowers on the wall, by The Statler Brothers. Lol .
I've got the answer for that age old question. Is it worse to have had big money , and lose it, or is it worse to have never had it at all?
I can answer this with complete certainty. It is 1,000,000+ times worse to have had it and lost it ,than to have never had it at all .
By the time I was 36 ,I had amassed a small fortune. I had little over
$28,000,000 in the bank.
About 200 pounds of gold ,when it was spot market prices around $900.00 per Troy ounce .
A Citation 2 personal jet ,"paid for ,". An income of about $1.5 million a year. An Enzo Ferrari, an F40 Ferrari also a Ferrari 360 gtb 2 Porsche 911 turbos . A Lamborghini Countache, A Lamborghini Mercialogo a Bentley continental. sports coupe a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost . Several Range Rover defenders , a couple corvettes, and my daily driverwas a n AMG Mercedes Benz McLaren SLC . . A 42' Ciggerette deep vee speed boat ,with triple 12 cylinder Lamborghini engines and bravo 2 out drives. A 120' custom built yacht. 5 houses. 2 in Eastern Kentucky, " where I was raised " and where I made my money ,in the coal mining industry. Had a 15 million dollar beach house in Port Saint Lucie Florida.
A mountain cabin in Vail , and another beach house on Maui. ABOUT , 20 to 25 million dollars worth of real estate in Florida and California.
I still have most of it ,but between a nasty ,costly divorce, and thanks to Obamas personal war on coal .
Well let's just say I have considerably less now.
So yes ,I know it's worse to grieve over what I worked so hard to have , only to watch an ungrateful bitch take half of it, and the sorriest, low life ,piece of shit president this country has ever had . Declare war on the very thing, that built this country.
I'll be the first to admit, that coal was already in trouble, and on it's way out , but that bastard was hell bent on ruining the lives of thousands of hard working miners . He single handedly destroyed the lives ,of so many families. It makes me sick to drive through all the now ghost towns, in West Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. A direct result of Obama and his liberal tree hugging , uninformed, lying , global climate change fanatics.
To add injury to insult, our governments, "most failed, " agency ,the DEA , has made sure ,that those hard working men , who literally broke their backs , in many instances, working in 30 inches of coal. Just get yourself a yardstick,. and cut 6 inches off it . Then imagine having to work in it ,for 8 to 12 hours a day . Where you have to ,"try,".to lay on your side to take a piss ,and heaven forbid you have to poop . Where everything you eat gives you horrible heartburn and indigestion. Where so many have been badly hurt. Hurt mining the coal that literally has kept the lights on. Not only that ,coal is used ,in one way or another, in over 1,200 common products, we use on a daily basis. So now the self righteous DEA ,has made it impossible for these guys to receive prescriptions for pain control . So they can have some small quality of life. Which has now , put unregulated, Heroin ,and fentanyl on the streets ,in places ,that had never seen it prior to their hypocritical laws .
I know that I have went on and on , but it makes me so angry. Because of his policies on coal being eradicated. In my case alone. I had to lay off over 280 men . Do you realize how many people were badly effected, just by those 280 hard working guys losing their jobs??? Before anyone gets on their high horse here . I gave each and every single one of them ,a minimum of $10,000 ,up to $100,000 in severance pay. According to how long they had worked for the company. Yes I knew every single one of their names as well . I was brought up in the mining industry, by my Father and his 4 brothers. Just like them ,I worked . I dont mean socializing ,and calling myself an entrepreneur. I mean getting filthy , dragging 6 inch water pump lines ,to pump water off of a pit of coal, it had rained on the night before. Work ,work . I would never ask one of my employees, to do anything, that I wouldn't do myself, and on several occasions, if it was something dangerous. I would go ahead and do it myself, rather than ask one of them to.
I know this has been a super long comment , but the urge hit me. I needed to vent . I covered everything, from how bad it is to lose what you've worked so hard for. As well as how badly I hate the DEA and how they have done people who need and deserve pain medication. To Obama and his unfair campaign against coal .
If anyone has any problems with anything I've written. Please, I implore you. Come debate me. We all are not the dumb, ignorant ,uneducated, toothless ," hillbillies, as you call us. That's another thing. For some reason, it's just fine to call people from Appalachia ,every derogatory name possible. Hillbilly is no different than calling a black person a nigger, or calling a homosexual a faggot or queer , or a Mexican a wetback , an Italian a Guinea , or a wap.. an Asian a gook or a chink . Same thing with calling an Arabic person a sand nigger. Not one bit of difference!!!!! . I have a doctorate degree in geology. So ,nope I am not ignorant. I take offense to hearing someone call me ,or anyone else from Appalachia a Hillbilly, but I also take offense to hearing anyone call other people any of the offensive names I listed above.
And yes.I am a very strong Donald Trump supporter. Guess what, I am also a Democrat, and a quite liberal one, at that. I just have some common sense about me. This nation can not go on ,at the rate it is being drained dry ,by people who are flooding our borders, that do not pay one thin dime in taxes ,to support our great welfare system. They are only raping it .
Folks , somehow, someway. That hole has to be plugged!!!!!!!!

ОтветитьThe best thing obout having money is police don’t mess with you. They know you have lawyers to sue the shit out of them for false arrest. And you have lawyers to beat any trumped up changes.
