Doesn't the concept of entropy assume temporality in the first place? How can it then be the basis of objective time?

OH, i know. how i got there, i assume Eientin was Right, and Back proprogated from Eientsins Shazping, universe, with, Light as INfo. data, Crisper /lsd guy, its sections. and obiousely thisgs are affectd by scales as similar in state , of quatum flux. entropy say it dosnt diaaspear, and it dsont seems so, it chages state and scale.

i thought of this becasue biologically, you have to make a decions and action, you cant over think, thats the death of many animals or speicies, i asume.

Time Reverse Motion experiments are the wrong approach for distinguishing past from future. A classical observer could tell which one is it.

'Time' is an illusion that exists in/as 'thought'!
'Thought' is Ego (Thought is Duality, mortality, death)!
Thus we 'identify' with the presentations of the Ego (autonomous self) and buy into 'life' and 'death'. Mortality!

I think motion is a better word for the factor that determines time. Not friction nor entropy, but simply motion. Time is the dimension entered by the object that moves from A to B. Electrons seem to cheat time with their superposition.

If time was just a feature of our brains then we would never get older and our cells would never deteriorate and stars would never exhaust their nuclear fuel, and BHs would never evaporate, and the Universe would never expand, etc etc. So this idea that the notion of time is just an illusion of our brains is completely ridiculous or at best useless. Only because this timeless idea is convenient to loop quantum gravity proponents doesn't mean that it's true. Moreover, this notion of minimal lenghts of distance and time (granularities or eigenvalalues) are not Lorentz invariance. So in a different frame they can be actually lower. So all this unconventional notion and features about time Rovelli tries to convey seems nonsense to me.

Time is an invented measurement. Convergence of ideas and the perceptible has convergence, but passing. Newton is a beginning. Predestination becomes relevant. Allegorical learning is inprecise, but valuable as a teaching method. Self awareness is key.

If humanity becomes extinct, but life on earth continues, will time still exist?
Is there any other lifeform that perceives time?
However, every other lifeform understands energy and distance and gravity, but not time!!

sometimes I forget that Carlo Rovelli is an actual person that exists, I got one of his books back in highschool and then I got his book on white holes when that was published, and I sort of just think of him as some imaginary person that created some cool books

We cannot change the past, but we do have a degree of control over the future. We can change what we were going to do tomorrow - even choose now to delay the the moment to decide a future choice. So can we say the past is a record of events that cannot be changed, but the future is totally yet to be determined and can be controlled by 'the now'?

He does an incredible job breaking down each layer. He guides us through each fundamental concept with such ease

If there is no time what is the meaning of velocity, what is the speed of light . There is no meaning of speed if there is no meaning of time .And what it means that the universe is expanding if there is no universal time .

The unique and indifferent bonding of power and knowledge always exists in the universe beyond the effect of time.

If knowing the future was physically possible, evolution would have taken advantage of this possibility.
No species has evolved the ability to know the future.
Therefore, there must be a fundamental physical reason why the future cannot be known, while the past can be, which means there must be a fundamental asymmetry in the physical nature: it's not about how we experience things, this asymmetry must exist independently of observers or conscious experience. Therefore our current physical theories, which mostly don't capture that asymmetry, despite their success in many areas, are missing something fundamental about the nature of reality, which may well be that the "next" event does not yet exist ;)

He rambles for the first ten minutes. I came into this not really believing in time but by the ten minute mark He said nothing and had convinced me that if I had to listen to anymore I would die. I am now convinced….time is real and wasting time is real. Thank you for wasting my time.

Only way for us to describe time is when something moves relative to something. Remove movement, you have your 3 dimensions, but no motion of any kind. Explain now time :) And after this question, explain why you cannot explain time and you will begin to understand that time does not exist 😄😄

If time is only in the brain it needs to be explained why d/dt is so effective in formulating precise descriptions of many processes.

In Vedanta time is an illusion , Sanskrit calls it maya , mitthya and yoga calls it Asmita !!! Some many thousand of years back ?
