Perusing Peru 2022 (Pt. 31) - Visiting Centro Turístico TioYacu in the Amazon

July 24, 2022 - Only 40 minutes (and 40 km) west of Moyobamba is the town of Rioja, which is the closest I've ever been to the equator while on land. It is also the location of Tio Yacu, a small but beautiful park space filled with trails, a lazy river, beautiful jungle scenery, and plenty of food. A great place for a picnic but also to relax and recreate in the nature of the Amazon.
