This is my first year for a reading journal and I incorporated a few reading challenges as well. I’m excited to just have some fun with it.
ОтветитьI started a reading journal waay back in 2019, and it started out with me writing my thoughts down as I went along, making note of passages and things that stuck out to me. It's changed a lot since I started it, and I just keep it simple--I write a few paragraphs of my thoughts on the book and how I felt while reading it. And I'm still using the same notebook I got in 2019 😂I haven't written in it all that much last year, but I only have a few pages left in it. Here's hoping I fill them out this year!
ОтветитьI've had a reading journal since 2019, and the difference in popularity in the last 3 years is crazy to me! When I first was looking for ideas there were barely any videos about dedicated journals for reading, and now there are so many creators who have them!
I love having a reading journal as a yearly keepsake of the books I read and how I felt about them. I also use it as a creative outlet, so its cool to look back at my different themes over time.
I started reading again this year and it’s the first time I’ve read for fun since I was in middle school. I’m 23 now so it’s been 10 years. I also started a reading journal this year and it has inspired me to read! I started one this year after watching your video from last year and was so happy to see you post another this year! So thank you for sharing!!
If anyone has any book Recommendations please share!! I’ve missed out on reading the last 10 years so any recommendations would be great!!☺️
I never thought about mixing journaling with reading mainly because I considered I didn't read enought to dedicate even a page to it. But after watching this video I'm seriously considering giving it a try.
ОтветитьI love this so much! I'm going to start a reading journal now.
ОтветитьReading journal alway look fun cos I love books but I find reading different enough without adding the need to write about it. I think it could very easily become a barrier to me reading. I think I’m currently just going to add pages about the books I’ve really enjoyed or feel like I need to write about in my bullet journal.
ОтветитьI’ve never used to reading journal, but I’m very interested to try
ОтветитьI'm so confused why anyone would print a solid color onto paper at home. Printer ink, particularly color ink is expensive AF! Why do that when craft paper exists?
ОтветитьI suddenly decided I wanted to start reading again. I found a 3 pk of notebooks during my haul and discovered "book journals" when trying to decide how to use them
ОтветитьI'll be making my third yearly reading journal this year. I typically do a bunch of stuff, like a book goal, continuing series tracker, physical tbr, what books I've read in the year and I do monthly sections where I make a list of books that sound good to me, and I list the books I actually read, their page count, and my thoughts on the book/a basic plot outline
ОтветитьMs Viveiros sent me
ОтветитьI loved this video! Your journal looks so beautiful 🥰✨
ОтветитьI just started my first RJ and I'm loving it so far! I tend to use a lot of stickers and bits of paper etc, because it satisfies my art itch (which I can't do w ny normal bujo now I use it for work). Really enjoying having a space to write down my thoughts, whether those are positive or negative
ОтветитьI have a small library of half read books. I need a place to keep track of the nonfiction lessons I am trying to incorporate into my life. Also, a way to dive into the splendor of a novel and come out with something on the other side. A reading journal is perfect for this; so I am attempting to create one. This is my first year with the trend. I am already enjoying the process.
ОтветитьI've already thought about creating a physical reading journal. But since I read almost exclusively self-help books and the majority of them are in English (my native language is French), I find an online solution more relevant to me. Especially since I like to take detailed notes on what I read. I find that changing the medium allows me to step back and process the information.
Ответитьi loved this. the design was so simple and effortless. great job! 😁🖤
Ответитьlovely
ОтветитьI love having a reading journal, both as a reader and as a librarian. It’s something fun and creative while helping me keep track of everything you talked about. 📚💖
ОтветитьLove it! This is so 😍😍
ОтветитьI love your set up style!
ОтветитьI love your journal setup! Your hand writing is so pretty! I found the note pages very helpful! I like having a space for just your 5 stars! I decided to make a reading journal! So I’ve been watching a lot of videos getting things I want to ad to mine! I actually keep notes in Notion- but I have a million journals and I like the idea of flipping through a physical book of my reading I wanted to put my art to practice and draw the book covers and have a place to save bits from my owl crate boxes and whatever else!
ОтветитьI love keeping a reading journal. I used to love drawing the covers of each book, but this year I’m trying some different ideas and really having fun with it so far
ОтветитьI think having a reading journal would be super nice for when I'm reading books that others may not like to hear about (like really weird quotes that I may like but others would find disturbing or odd - usually due to the book being smutty or trigger warning-esque). Some place safe to really think about the book. Then I can go to Twitter/goodreads with my final edited thoughts.
Ответитьis it ok if i start a reading journal now even though its already april
ОтветитьSo where did buy ur reading journal from?
Ответитьlove this journal... so pretty
ОтветитьBy the why it’s called a journal book
ОтветитьLiterally love how easy you made it look to create a reading journal that is functional yet very stylish! Thank you for sharing love your channel!!!!!!! Happy reading!!!!!!
📚
i love these videos, but... i suck at this stuff. my handwriting is terrible :c
ОтветитьMy reading journal just have an index, and book review, date read. And i keep 1 book per page. So in my 192 page journal, i can record 192 books! And my journal is not yearly.
ОтветитьI never made a book because people could die and they don't know where they can save their book
ОтветитьI think as I read alot whether paper back or digital fan fiction or ebooks I am reading almost every day I think the easiest type of journal for me is a reading one.
ОтветитьMy first reading journal was a year long assignment in middle school. The teacher wanted us to tab and post it note in the books with thoughts then paste them into the journal, sometimes selecting one to make an expanded journal entry on. We would also use reading time tracking book marks for each books and then past those in with a general book review. 📖
Ответитьi’ve never been able to find a good journal too make but this is literally PERFECT! Most journals people make I have to check in everyday with the journal but here it’s so simple i just check in when i finish a book!
ОтветитьI know this is an older Video, but i have just recently started thinking about a reading journal and i just must say... Love your handwriting.❤
ОтветитьWill we see more reading journals even though you aren’t doing bullet journaling?
ОтветитьLove this! Will you do an end of year flip through before your next one !!
Ответитьobsessed with this!!
ОтветитьStarting the new year with a new reading journal! thank you for the ideas I feel these will work for me
ОтветитьI'm starting mine today. Your video was the most helpful that I could find to help me with ideas to write about. Thank you
ОтветитьLike your ideas. I'm old, late 60s and my dad had all of us kids (big family) track our reading on index cards. He brought each of us a little wooden recipe box in which to store our cards. As I aged, I switched to college ruled 3 ring paper and binders, because I wanted to write more notes, quotes, and opinions. There was a period of time, long ago, when my best friend and I read the same book and we each wrote in my book journal. It has been fascinating to re-read some of my favorites and note how my view has changed with age and experience. The books become part of you because the journal makes you think about them more deeply. There have been busy times in my life (attending university, establishing a career, getting married), when my book journal has few pages, and more quiet times when I add many pages. I have also kept a diary for all these years, and sketchbooks, and all these journals together, are my own story of my life. Every now and then, I look back at what I read, say in the summer, 40 years ago, and I am right back there. My book journal is less of a method of tracking pages or number of books, than it is how they affected me, changed me, became part of my life. It has been a very personal, private, and rewarding part of my life. Happy reading!
ОтветитьLove this video and the simplicity of your theme is beautiful
ОтветитьI love your reading journal, simple, yet effective. I'm definitely borrowing ideas from it. Keep up the good job. 😍I also love your handwriting!
ОтветитьI've been a voracious reader since 6th grade - I'm 71 now...But, I JUST started my reading journal in Dec 2021 for books I read in 2022. Because I didn't use ALL the pages (Scribbles That Matter iconic version), I'm using it in 2023 with a few tweaks I learned from 2022. Unlike you, I DO spend time on a structured page for Review/Summary/Stats. I like to do that in advance on Saturday or Sunday mornings when it's quiet... I'm a scrapbooker too - so I love decorating my pages. My 'Booklie' [reading journal] is super fat and chunky! I have a Collection in my 1st BuJo with the titles of all the books I read since 6th grade [that I remember! BUt dozens of sci-fi and romance novels are missing... 🙂 tfs!
ОтветитьHoly shit your writing style is so pretty wow! This whole video inspired me so much thank you
ОтветитьI usually keep track of what books I have read & ratings with my goodreads account, but I also like to keep track. I used to keep track in my own journal and pushed it away. I wanted to start back up this coming up year of keeping track. Your video was really helpful!
